On Vacation!
Okay, so maybe I am a bit late. But while the rest of the world was planning camping trips and beach vacations, I was gleefully awaiting an early autumn escape, when I would finally be able to explore the cultural minefield that is Nova Scotia.

I mean minefield in only the kindest of ways. It seems like every brochure and web site I see features a fiddler, dancer, or piper, as well as some scrumptious seafood for me to drool over. And although I am not your typical sightseer (I am actually excited to be there during hurricane season), a part of me longs to celebrate our country’s early history by exploring the coast where it all began!
Sigh . . . when will this week be over? I can’t wait to get on the road!
But wait—there may be a way for me get through it. After all, I will need to pack some supplies. Yay! It’s list making time!
- I won’t be staying in a luxurious hotel every night, so I think I will bring along some dry shampoo and wipes to help me get by without a shower.
- We’ll probably go hiking on the Cabot Trail, so I will want to protect my precious skin with something with a high SPF while exploring the sights.
- And while I’m at it, I guess I should throw in some bug spray, just in case!
- Since my camera recently went kaput, I might need to throw in one of those– or at least a disposable.
- Oooh, goody! Travelling is always a great excuse to buy some mini things! For me, and for my man.
And now, I am truly ready. Great, only 4 more hours
to go . . .
Get Back to a School Schedule!
Summer for the average student usually means trying our best to become nocturnal. Sleeping in is one of the greatest luxuries of the summer but it can be hard to flip the switch when classes roll around again. Here are a couple things to try to get back on a regular sleeping schedule:

Autumn After School Fun!
Summer is the season for vacations, trips and far away destinations. It’s when going away doesn’t mean missing class and having to catch up on school work. Just because the beach might not be the best option in the fall, it doesn’t mean that you can’t go away for weekends together! For [...]
Fall into New Beauty
I love when the seasons change – there’s nothing like the brisk smell of a fall morning. The best part about a change of season is that it marks a chance to try new things! There are always new trends, new products and new colours to test out.
Here are a couple [...]
Lunch to catch your fancy!
In a world where kids are bombarded everyday with advertising for the newest sugary snack, good old fashioned fruit and vegetables barely stand a chance. In the same way that something flashy can catch the eyes of an adult, making healthy snacks a little more fun will encourage kids to eat them. A [...]
With legs
If you ride a bike then you know that the two wheels beneath you are often slaves to geography. Inclines or the more appropriately termed “rolling hills,” often sneak up on a rider. Personally, I look forward to climbing hills, slopes, inclines and cliffs, hilltops, knolls, ramps and parking garages, in any shape or form. [...]

Behind The Scenes at Well.ca
Hi there! I’m Mat Trudel, recently brought on to the Well.ca team to help address some growing pains that have come up as a result of the crazy awesome growth of Well.ca over the past few years. My general portfolio is one of ‘tooling, process and infrastructure‘, which in layman’s terms means that I work [...]
The ‘Mane’ Attraction
Your hair can be your most valuable asset and your worst enemy at the same time. We all know what it’s like to wake up late in the morning and realize that you do have time to take a shower but not enough time to wash, blow dry and straighten your hair. We’ve [...]
Get ready for the long weekend!
Our second-last long weekend of the summer is just around the corner! It’s hard to believe how quickly this season has flown by. Whether you’re camping, heading to the beach, barbecuing it up or just planning on relaxing in your backyard this weekend, take care to prepare for the insects.
I’m a notoriously mosquito [...]
