Well.ca’s New Design

Hello Well.ca community,

Our team has been tirelessly working away at developing a new and improved Well.ca over the past months. I am really happy to be able to announce those changes today.

The new design for our site is improved in so many different ways and all the changes are directed at making it easier for you to find, explore, and purchase products for their homes.

Product pictures are larger, more products are shown at once, search is larger and improved, and we’ve changed our header to make it easier to explore all the categories of products on our site.

We hope you like the new colour theme and the new design. Thanks so much to everyone on our team who helped build all the little parts of the new site.

We’re really interested in your feedback — are there parts of the new design that you really like or think still need improvement? Let us know in the comments below.

And remember, this is only the beginning. We have so many new features planned for the site in the near future. So stay tuned!

Take care,

-ali

7 Great Tips on Beating the Winter Blues!

The Canadian winter can really start to take its toll this time of year.  The days become so long, cold and dreary and spring feels like it’s still so far out of reach.  Staying active, energized and motivated can be such an uphill battle.

Best Health Magazine’s blog has an amazing Web Exclusive called 7 Ways To Boost Your Energy. It’s definitely worth a read. They offer 7 simple ways to keep yourself energized during these dark, cold months. (I think my personal favourite is carving out 20 minutes for a power nap each day).

Made in Canada: Part 1

998524_54637690These days it’s not unusual to have well-founded concerns about the products we use every day.  Considering all the synthetic perfumes, allergies and potentially toxic chemicals and preservatives that are commonly used, it’s hard to know where to turn.  Chemical-free and made in Canada is always a safe place to start.  Thanks to a few of our Facebook fans, I was able to come up with a post that highlighted a few of our favourite Green & Natural Canadian brands that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Dimpleskins Naturals is one of my very favourite green and natural brands here at Well.ca. All of their products are handcrafted, right here in Canada. Although the line is geared to babies and kids, these gentle products can be used at any age.  (I’m personally a huge fan of the Unscented Avacado Soap. So gentle!).  Dimpleskins Naturals handcraft each of their products with pure and organic ingredients and their packaging is functional, brilliant and green.  A few of our top sellers from this brand include Bum Bum Balm, Boo Boo Goo and the Unscented Avacado Soap.

Green Beaver is another green and natural Canadian favourite.  Green Beaver offers wholesome, safe and effective products that can be used by the whole family. Green Beaver products use vegan, gluten-free ingredients and their packaging is eco-friendly. This is a very impressive line that ranges from nursing balm to hand wash and body lotions. One of my very favourite Green Beaver products is the Green Beaver Lip Shimmer in Lustre.

Ddrops is another amazing Canadian brand that offers a very handy supplement to have around this time of year. Ddrops provides naturally sourced vitamin D3 (also known as the sunshine vitamin) in doses that are available to both babies and adults.  Ddrops contains no sugar, no chemicals or additives and delivers your daily dose in just one tiny, tasteless drop.

Stay tuned next week, where I will featuring a part 2 to this post. There are so many great Canadian green and natural brands to talk about. I want to say thank you to our Facebook fans who took time out of their day to come up with a really, really inspiring topic. Writer’s block be gone!

A Day at the Spa

Every girl deserves a little pampering, but she shouldn’t have to break the bank to do it. As amazing as a visit to the spa can be, the prices can sometimes make it more stressful than it’s worth.

So why not try bringing the spa home? Whether you’re looking for the Ultimate Escape or you just want a Quick Retreat, here are some suggestions to help you relax at home:

998524_54637690 Ultimate Escape: Take a bath. A nice long soak with the Algemarin Foam Bath Original can surely help to wash the stress away, any day of the week. Play some soft music, dim down the lights, and enjoy.

Quick Retreat: Try a foot soak. If you’re pressed for time and want to save water, a foot bath may be the thing for you. Start with Johnsons Foot Soap and then exfoliate your feet with the Urban Spa Pumice Stone to make your feet love you again!

Ultimate Escape: Give yourself a facial. No spa is complete until your face is covered in clay. Take your time and use the Burt’s Bees Pore Refining Mask to get your perfect, radiant complexion back.

Quick Retreat: Try a gel mask. Get the calm and renewed feeling in less time by using the Urban Spa Soothing Gel Eye Mask over your eyes. Whether it’s used warm or cool, it will surely bring you to a state of total relaxation.

Hope your at home spa is incredible. After the chaotic holidays, I’m sure you need it :)
