The Victoria Day long weekend (also known as May 2-4) marks the “official unofficial” beginning of the cottage season. Whether you are headed out into cottage country or just firing up the barbecue in the backyard, one thing is certain: winter is over and we are ready for the sun! Rain or shine, this year Well.ca has a ton of ways to make it the most memorable long weekend yet:
Rain:
Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate this weekend, there are still plenty of options to keep your family and friends entertained. Well.ca has a huge selection of board games, everything to classics like Jenga or SKIP-BO, or games to keep even the most advanced enthusiast engaged, like Settlers of Catan or Carcasonne. If board games aren’t your thing, our extensive DVD and BluRay library has got you covered. From the latest smash hits, Puss in Boots and Moneyball are two of our faves, to super-specific (and super-relevant!) titles like Berenstain Bears: Going To The Cottage, these titles will make the rainy weather “bear”-able!
Shine!
We’ve got our fingers crossed for sunshine too! That means it is time to start thinking about sunscreen again – don’t wait until your first burn of the year to stay sun safe. We have a bunch of sun care products for almost every situation. If you’ve got kids who’ll be in the sun and the water, water resistant sunscreens such as Badger SPF 30+ Sunscreen are great ways to keep their skin cool. High SPF sunscreens like La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Cream, which is SPF 60, provide a high level of protection. If you do catch too much sun, help your skin recover with products like SBT Seabuckthorn Sunburned Skin Soothing Salve, and moisturizers like Jason Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel.
You can now follow Well.ca on Pinterest too! Yvonne has collected a pinboard of must haves for the cottage season, check us out and don’t forget to pin your own favourites! In any case, whatever the weather this long weekend, we are sure that it is going to kick off one of the best summers ever! If you’ve got a fun tradition for the Victoria Day long weekend, we’d love to hear about it in the comments. Stay safe, have a great time, and don’t forget the bug spray!
