The story about Royal Dansk started more than 75 years ago when young Anna and Marinus opened a small bakery in a tiny village in Denmark. In 1966 the Royal Dansk brand was established and a totally new range of crisp, delicious and luxury products was born. The cookies were packed and delivered in a recognizable tin showing the old Danish farmhouse named "Hjemstavnsgaard" from the island of Fuen in Denmark.

The tin was used to maintain freshness of the cookies. It was resealable and reusable for storing in general, and some people used it simply as a bowl to serve from. It's a matter of no surprise that it was known as The Blue Tin.

Today the Royal Dansk Butter Cookies are enjoyed all over the world, and the cookies are just as delicious as the ones Anna and Marinus made so many years ago. The design has been slightly modernised to follow the trend of today, however.
