I have used the Lavender scented Alaffia lotion, which is much nicer than the vanilla. I don't know why, but the vanilla makes me itchy. Not sure if I'm sensitive to one of the ingredients, or just doesn't moisturize as well. A lot of other reviews comment on the runniness, I don't find it runny, but its definitely not thick like a body butter. Spreads easily, soaks in well. The vanilla smells weird, kinda fake.

This is a wonderful lotion, keeps skin from being dry/cracked, I find it great for dry heels as well. I don't find it runny as others have said. I really have to rub it in well on my skin, but the results are wonderful: smooth soft skin! Great ingredients, amount and price!

I've been searching for a great body lotion for a couple of years now. I read the review about this one and ordered it. Overall it is a good lotion, it smells nice, it's made with natural ingredients and it's whole trade. However, it is too light for my dry skin so I will continue my search for a great natural everyday lotion.

This lotions spreads well, although I would prefer if it was less runny. It smells strongly of shea and you can only catch a hint of the vanilla mint fragrance, this didn't bother me though because I don't mind the smell of unrefined shea butter. As someone with pretty dry skin, I found this to be a good daily lotion and it wasn't too heavy for summer. I'm not sure what it's like in the winter but if it is too light then I could just add in some castor or coconut oil when I apply it.

Very nice moisturizer with light scent that is more shea butter than vanilla in fragrance. I don't think it would be sufficient for very dry skin or in the winter as it is quite a light moisturizer - better for spring and summer. Very good for sensitive skin and kids as well.

Its a good everyday natural moisturizer but I wish it was a little less watery. It's the best bang for your buck though and the one moisturizer with the least amount of ingredients.(less chemicals) and I like the smell.

At first it appears to disappear like water into your skin but the results are amazing. No greasy film, just silky soft skin. And I don't want my products to make me smell so this one is greta in that area too.

I actually really like this product. The smell of the vanilla one isn't that great, but I grew to like it. Plus it's subtle, so it's not a matter of what you smell like to other people--it only matters the ten seconds that you're smelling it as you apply it. It's a light moisturizer too, so it's not greasy and absorbs quickly. I have acne prone skin so I sometimes use this for my face too--because it doesn't clog up my pores.

This product was sadly not what I had expected,I don't regret buying it because 10% of the sales go to bettering the lives of people in Tobago...BUT the pungent scent of (what I presume to be) the shea over powers the indistinct "vanilla" scent;the lotion's consistency (for me) feels like watered down petroleum jelly.The pros of course are the large bottle size at a reasonable amount,not to mention its all natural and goes towards a good cause but I wouldn't recommend it...

I am a little disappointed with this product, feels nice when you first put it on & then about 20 minutes later youe hands feel dry again.

I wasn't particularly pleased with the fragrance. The vanilla is extremely faint, and there is another much stronger smell which I am assuming is the shea butter? It was a bit much for me. But, all that being said it is a wonderful lotion and a good value for the money, that`s why I have given 4 out of 5 stars . I think next time I`ll try the lavender...

I love the smell of vanilla, but this lotion smelled more like "shea" the vanilla.
The lotion itself is very nice and not greasy at all.

My long search for an organic body lotion is over!! This lotion is wonderful! It has a light vanilla scent that fades away quickly - I wish it lasted longer. The lotion spreads very nicely - not too runny, not too thick. It soaks in quickly and doesn't feel greasy at all. I feel moisturized all day long. No nasty chemical ingredients and a portion of proceeds goes to villages in Africa to help support their shea butter businesses. And lastly, the bottle is HUGE - it lasts for weeks. Love it!! The unscented lotion is the same except there is a bit of a scent - the natural smell of the shea butter maybe?
