For me personally, these have always worked better for my dry, chapped lips than almost anything else I've tried, and I've tried a lot of other kinds of lip balms. I've found them especially good to put on to wear while I'm sleeping -- the only time I have a problem with them wearing off quickly and/or making things worse is when I lick my lips a lot, which granted can be a problem because they taste kind of nice.
