I really like Dr Bonners peppermint soap, I add just a tablespoon to my laundry, leaving it smelling so nice and fresh. Though I find it too strong for my skin. It would work well for someone with oily skin.
I don't usually put a lot of faith in the effectiveness of "natural" products, but this soap is a great value, smells very nice, and gets you clean. Works well as facial cleanser, too, without drying out your face.
awesome product. we use it in the shower. works great for homemade cleaning products. a little goes a long way.
Absolutely love this stuff as a hand soap. I fill a foaming pump with about a half inch or so of Dr. Bronner's and fill the rest of it with water as a natural, cheap option for hand soap. I have tried some of the other scents which are also nice, but the peppermint is my family's favorite.
I love this product for myself-- the peppermint scent is refreshing, and I love that it tingles my skin. However, the tingling is a bit much for my toddlers, and I'm sure it would be quite nasty if it got into their eyes. As other reviewers mentioned, a little goes a long way.
This is a good product. I would prefer the lavender scent for bathing but the peppermint is good for cleaning.
hubby & i love it! simple, clean & pure. no nonsense clean! a little does go along way.
I first tried Dr Bronner's soaps last summer when I noticed that my toddler daughter looked like she was wearing tiny chapped gloves from using other soaps to wash her hands. Within the first 2 days, her hands looked like the soft little hands that they should have. I have been buying various fragrances of Dr Bronner's since and have been as happy with them still as I was then. The Peppermint fragrance really does tingle on the skin, making it soothing for irritated areas (like my eczema). To make it last a bit longer (though it lasts a long time anyway) and to make it easier for my kids to wash off, I have refilled a foam soap dispenser with a mix of Dr Bronner's soap and water (about 2/3 water to 1/3 Dr Bronner's) and it works fabulously!
Is a good deal - last awhile and is not too expensive. Is a multiple-purpose soap but I do find it can be a little drying when used as a hand soap. Also, is very thin so when used in a pump soap dispenser it has a tendency to spray.
We buy the unscented all the time and it works great but I got the peppermint one so I could smell the kids hands to see quickly if they had washed them! Works perfectly as planned!
Trying to move away from harsh chemicals and detergents. Very happy with this product so far! Smells great and lathers well. So glad it's fair trade and organic too.
This is the best liquid soap we've ever used, we got rid of everything else we have. We use this for all our bathing and showering needs, including shampoo and shaving. Our kids love this soap too. A couple of drops go a long way.
very good body wash.. i dont bother diluting it.. its not necessary..and keeps me feeling very fresh.. by no means do i recommend using this on your face or hair.. especially if your hair is colour treated. colour treated hair needs special care and so does you face. this is why i hate companies who claim 18 in 1 use products.. maybe a man can have more uses for this but definetely not me.
Great body wash, peppermint extract feels amazing on skin. Dilute 1 part to 5 parts water.
I would recommend this soap however the tingly feeling just feels weird to me, If you were to buy a Dr. Bronners soap I would recommend the almond scent.
This product should be rated #5. I first discovered the peppermint soap about 35 years ago & was delighted to see it on the Well.ca website. It is fabulous for taking on camping trips, as it can be used for many different things. One product...less packing!
This is absolutely heavenly to use as a face wash. The peppermint leaves your body feeling slightly cooled while the water warms it- And the smell alone makes every usage a treat!
I love this for a body wash (lots of lather and bubbles!), but even when I use only a couple of drops sparingly as a shampoo, I really have to rinse it out good (maybe my shower head is just too weak, I end up having to kneel down under the faucet) or my hair looks and feels greasy and stringy. Conversely, one could try their citrus conditioner (if it's available anymore) or perhaps the tea tree oil or citrus scent might rinse out better. Another suggestion is to use it as a foam. Or it could just be my particular hair.
It is also awesome as a hand wash in a foaming pump, just put a couple of tablespoons (or a couple of good squirts) in the bottom, and fill the rest with water. I added a bit of their tea tree scent to it because the peppermint alone didn't feel like it was slippery enough when first applied.
I use this stuff everywhere: on my body, on my floors, on my ceramics. It's tough on dirty, gentle on skin, deliciously tingly as a body wash- a real eye-opener in the morning. :)
I use Dr. Bronner's soap for everything! It's not just great for the shower, but also for cleaning your house in an environmentally-friendly way. Mix it with some baking soda to make a paste and you can clean everything from the stove and oven to sinks, bathtubs, and countertops. The peppermint, lavender, and tea tree oil are best for disinfecting. Plus, who wouldn't want their kitchen or bathroom to smell like peppermint??
I use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint as a body wash in the shower. I like the smell. It can leave my skin dry. So, I alternate, one day Dr. Bronner's, the next Dove soap/Head & Shoulders. I really like the Dr. Bronner's days.
I love how this product tingles and refreshes for a deep clean feel. I can't wait to use it in the hot summer while camping!!
Great soap. Nice and tingly for the areas that are itchy. Cleans things very well. Very very tingly. - you have been warned! Those cult sayings on the bottle are hilarious to read! haha.
This stuff really lathers- it is magic. It's really minty and wakes me up in the morning.
I mix this with water and use as shampoo. My hair has never felt and looked so great. The color of my hair looks so rich. I love it!
This is a great soap for a hot summers day or if you have a cold. The mint helps you cool down. You need a bit to help it foam up and definitely need to use a puff or sponge. I have also tried just soaking it by pouring some in a tub under running water. It doesn't foam up like bubble bath but it helps to sit and soak if your all stuffed up from a cold.
Great soap without all the harsh detergent chemicals. If you are looking to get away from chemicals, this is more natural.
I adore this soap, and have used it for years. I have very pale and sensitive skin. I have never had a reaction to this soap. It is quite thin though so using a bath sponge is a prudent idea.
Unlike some of the reviewers, I do not find this soap works at all for hair even when you purchase the Shikakai Conditioning Rinse they recommend using after 'soaping'.
Okay, for a long time I've been searching for a "do-it-all" soap. I've tried all the big brands (Clarins, Nivea etc.) and all the boutiques (Kiehls, Pehaligons etc.) and I can honestly say that you won't get any better than this. As a soldier I need a soap that can clean anything to an "inspection clean"
...This is it - shampoo=awesome, bodywash=revitalizing. It leaves your skin squeaky clean and it's natural (not that I really care).
Castile soaps are where its at....and this is one of the best. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.....
P.S- Don't plan on taking it in the field its freezes real easy (so buy the soap bar too!)
