The most mild tasting of all sea vegetables, hand harvested in the wild, shredded, cooked, and naturally air dried. Great in salads and sauteed vegetable dishes. Sweeter and milder than its cousin hiziki.
Ingredients: Arame (Eisenia bicyclis), wild.
I just read the other review. Sadly the taste of all sea vegetables (seaweed) takes getting used to. They have that 'sea' taste. Just like when you go to the sea you can smell the water. I've been using seaweed since about 1986 at which time I became macrobiotic. I HATED the stuff!!!!! Yuck!!! But my macro councillor told me to stick with it. Things I learned: start off slow; you do not need large quantities; at first use the seaweed to cook with - throw it in the cooking water (great when cooking grains as they absorb all the goodness but you can't taste it) - simmer and then pull out the actual seaweed and toss it, the goodness stays in the broth; crush it up and use in salads and soups. Don't get me wrong... I'm still not in love with this stuff even after 25yrs but I've learned to eyeball how much I use and how I use it so the strong taste doesn't come through. They health benefits are soooo worth it. Good luck!
