Florastor is a probiotic made of live freeze dried yeast cells of the species Saccharomyces boulardii. The cells are put into capsules and sealed. Each capsule of Florastor has 250 mg of S. boulardii in it.
In every person there are billions of microorganisms that keep your intestines working properly. Some medicines, certain diseases, travel and stress can cause an upset in the balance of microorganisms in your body. Florastor helps maintain the balance in your intestines and is safe to take with other medicines.
Probiotics help the good organisms in your intestines to grow and get rid of "bad" organisms that can disrupt normal intestinal function.
Ingredients: Per Capsule:
- 5 x 109 CFU (250 mg) Saccharomyces Boulardii in the form of lyophilized (freeze dried) powder
- 32.50 mg lactose monohydrate
Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and titanium dioxide (E171)

These are great when your system gets a little out of balance. They were originally recommended to me for taking on a holiday to Mexico as preventative measures, but found them to be useful at home as well.

I was first prompted to purchase this product before a trip to the Carribbean, iIt was last minute so I didn't have time to go to the Dr.'s for anything. Even at home I tend to gastro upset with any change in my routine so I was anxious to ensure I had something to get me through the holiday. I took Florastor as recommended and had no trouble at all. Once home I decided to continue to take it and after years of trying to "regularize" ongoing gastrointestinal issues Florastor seems to be just the ticket. I have tried some of the other less expensive pro-biotic products since but have always gone back to Florastor. It's now just a part of my daily routine and expect it will continue to be as on those rare occasions I've run out I've regretted it! :) Thanks to Well.ca for their product selection and service!

This product is fantastic! I am on a diet that doesn't allow carbs, and so this is a fantastic way to get my probiotics. I also have trouble swallowing pills, and this product can be chewed without harming yourself. Great!!
