The smell isn't bad at all. However, one issue is the shampoo is hard to rinse out since I have really long hair. This isn't the case with the conditioner. Love that the product is natural and I'm not putting a bunch of chemicals in my hair follicles. Will definitely try another green beaver shampoo maybe not this one and hope to find one that rinses out really well.

Great smell - like lemon merangue pie, and uses essentail oils for fragrance so not harmful. Canadian company and organic ingredients so chemical -free. It does work to de-tangle somewhat but I found that it doesn't leave hair shiny and manageable - after its dry I find my hair notty and hard to get a brush through. However, since chemical-free and reasonably priced are my priorities I'd still buy it instead of Pantene any day! 3/5

Very happy with this product. I love the smell (lemongrass), and it conditions hair without leaving it greasy. I use it on myself and my children.

Great product! Works very well. Use this conditioner & corresponding shampoo on my kids. Very pleased with results. Conditioner really reduces tangles & makes my daughter's fine hair easy to brush. Plus, healthier than regular shampoos. Recommended! No issue re: smell for us.
