Our natural toothpastes are made with plants & minerals. Unlike toothpaste with fluoride, children under the age of 6 years of age can safely swallow our natural toothpastes (including toddlers). Furthermore, our toothpastes are made with real flavours without any chemically engineered synthetic flavours (or dyes), making it better for us and our environment! The toothpastes contain natural antibacterial agents such as Xylitol, lemon and tea tree extracts. Xylitol occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables, including berries, apples, and plums. According to Health Canada, "studies have indicated that xylitol in particular may actually help to prevent tooth decay".
It also contains natural mineral whiteners such as Silica and calcium carbonate, natural breath fresheners like aromatic and refreshing herbs. We also add Calcium ascorbate, which contributes to the normal development and maintenance of teeth and gums. Available in five natural flavours from Mother Nature’s garden: Frosty Mint, Star Anise, Zesty Orange, Green Apple, and Cilantro Mint.
Ingredients: Calcium carbonate, sorbitol, aqua, glycerin, sodium bicarbonate, illicium verum (anise) oil, natural aroma, silica, xylitol, citrus medica limonum (lemon) extract, calcium ascorbate, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, menthol, sclerotium gum, coco glucoside, xanthan gum.

I have recently become aware that many big name toothpastes contain sodium laurel sulphate (a foaming agent) and triclosan (an antibacterial agent found in hand sanitizer and household cleaners). I decided to look for an alternative and a friend recommended Green Beaver. While the star anise (black licorice) flavour is not for everyone, I love it and so does my 11 year old son. It's not as strong as mint and leaves your mouth feeling very clean and fresh. Definitely a great product for kids as it is fluoride free.

Love this toothpaste! With little ones, I wanted something with no flouride in case of swallowing, and they actually like the taste of this one, the star anise - it ended the teethbrushing battles with the 4 year old! Even bought some to give as a gift to my sister with her two boys who were unhappy teethbrushers, and this helped them, too!

My husband has been troubled by cankers in his mouth for years, but Dr Weil's website talked about sodium laurel sulphate in toothpaste being a cause of cankers. So we went looking for a toothpaste without it. We found just one at a natural food store. I also tried the internet and found Green Beaver at Well.ca. So, he likes the flavour of anise and that's what we bought and we have been buying it ever since.And of course we became fans of Well.ca. Great company.

I don't like mint toothpaste so Green Beaver Star Anise Toothpaste is a great alternative. The fact that it is natural is a bonus. Leaves my teeth and mouth feeling clean and fresh.

Brilliant! Genius! Best tasting toothpaste ever made AND no more mouth sores. I was getting canker sores and rough skin inside my cheeks from big name brand toothpastes that I wasn't even comfortable using because they weren't vegan. This is a great product. And I confess to brushing more often and zealously than ever rather than just eating it from the tube. Keeps your teeth white too!

This is by far my kids favourite of the Green Beaver brand toothpastes. They hated the orange one and the apple was just ok. They even ask to brush their teeth multiple times a day with this star anise kind. This is what I will be buying from now on!

I enjoy the flavour of this brand much more than "Tom's", more liquorice taste. The added benefit,no sodium lauryl sulfate, which is in "Tom's". This will be my new favourite.

I've tried Green Beaver's other tooth pastes so naturally I decided to try this one. I am not a fan of black liquorice but this toothpaste may change my views on that. It's like a sweet little mouth treat in the morning!

I must be in the minority, but this toothpaste makes me gag. There is just something about the taste that I cant handle. I have no problem with other Green Beaver products though. They make quality stuff. I have used a few of their toothpastes, and they have been great. This Star Anise one though gets 1 star from me.

This is a great product. My son doesn't care for the mint toothpastes and loves the flavour.

This toothpaste taste good! I feel good knowing that I'm using safe ingredients. The only thing I have noticed when comparing to name brand toothpaste is that it does not foam too much, but that doesn't bother me. I would definitely buy it again.

This is the only toothpaste I've been able to use during pregnancy. The flavour doesn't gross me out like typical mint flavours. I mostly like that the ingredients are safe for me and my kids to use. My teeth don't feel as clean as conventionaly toothpaste, so I have to brush a little longer, which I am fine with knowing that I'm not consuming chemicals.

Great taste if you're a black licorice fan, milder feeling then "regular" toothpaste, but my teeth do feel clean after brushing, and I'm happy to be using a natural toothpaste without any of the chemical or harsh stuff.

It makes my tongue tingle! Sometimes it`s fun, sometimes it`s annoying. If you like black licorice, this is the toothpaste for you. I bought this to keep in my shower (yea, sometimes I like to crush my teeth in the shower) and use the green apple flavour on a regular basis. My teeth feel squeaky clean afterwards, and the flavour is refreshing.

I just love this product. I don't like all the additive's and sugar that is in regular toothpaste. This does not have all of that. Plus I love how it tastes like I am brushing my teeth with black licorice. I would highly recommend this toothpaste.

I like it so much ! Anis taste is kind of cool. And by the way, anis as property to help digestion. BONUS ! (That's why they serve Anis candy after supper in Restaurant ) I would like to have a chart of how it may be abrasive. (Some toothpaste don't feel like being abrasive but are)

Amazing flavour if you like black liquorice and it cleans well.
Also, I have sensitive teeth and since switching from regular fluoride toothpastes to Green Beaver I no longer have a problem with sensitive teeth.

I love the black licorice smell and taste. It's expensive though. I don't find it as effective as regular floride toothpaste either. I do love that it's Canadian and all-natural, etc. I really like that Green Beaver has such a vast product line and I find most of its stuff is really good!

After reading some of the mixed reviews here, I wasn't sure if I would like it or not but I LOVE this toothpaste! I did have to put some more on my brush (I have one of those powered ones - so I put some on for the bottom teeth and reapplied for the top) It wasn't too thin going on and had a very pleasant, mild flavor. I love that it's Canadian! I especially wanted an SLS-free product that was safe for my young children. It's a keeper!

I absolutely love this product. Taste's like black licorice so if you don't like black licorice then try one of there other flavours. My kids have tried many flavours and liked them all. I love that it is a natural toothpaste and safe for all of us. Give it a try you won't regret.

A fantastic product. Not only does it taste great it is very effective. My teeth are visibly whiter. The only thing to watch is putting it on your toothbrush. It is not as thick as the other commercial products so be mindful when dispensing.

I guess if you're not familiar with the flavour of star anise (very similar to black licorice--but all natural), it might be a surprising flavour for a toothpaste. I can't get enough of it personally. I've only used it a few times as I want to finish my normal toothpaste first, but I've never been so excited to finish a tube of toothpaste before!
I find that regular toothpastes makes my mouth feel a bit burny/irritated (probably the sulfates and minty stuff). This one doesn't do that at all, yet feels like it's doing a great job and has a VERY pleasant aroma and flavour (to me). Love it!

I did not like the taste of this toothpaste at all, it made me gag. I had to re-brush my teeth with a different one to get the taste out of my mouth! I highly suggest Tom's of Maine Fennel toothpaste or Comvita's Natural Propolis Toothpaste with Tea tree Oil which both taste very refreshing and nice.
