Love it. This is my fourth machine... I use them for both of my kids (11 months and 4 years). Really helped with the transition to new sibling in the house as it prevented the older child from hearing the baby, and it helps the baby sleep in when his brother gets up. I also use it to sleep during the day after night shifts (we live in a new construction area). They burn out after about 2 years of use every night. I also like the battery/plug in format. We use it on batteries for camping or travel overseas. Highly reccomend it.

Very much appreciated the battery operating function on our recent vacation out of the country. We use this for our baby. While we only use the white noise, the other options are nice. It's sleek and simple to use. The LED green light is rather bright but does serve as a nightlight in our baby's room. Love how quickly it shipped!

Bought 2, they were great for 6 months for new baby and older sibling... But BOTH stopped working almost at exactly the same time. They power on but the volume dial doesn't work on either... Ie no sound comes out no matter what you do. Would appear the potentiometer used for the dial is of inferior quality for regular use. Will be looking into warranty options if possible and see how that turns out...

I have bought a few sound machines over the last 8 to 10 years and this one is my favourite. It is very light and compact. Great for travelling. The previous one had been to Barbados, China, Japan, Thailand and more. It helps combat my husbands snoring and all other noises. Especially great in a hotel where you have people coming and going all night. Works fabulous to help the wee grandchildren settle.

Great little device. The battery option makes it great to take with you on vacations in noisy hotels. We use the water option b/c its a continuous sound...this option seems to be able to get as loud as we need it. I have three of these machines in each of my kids rooms. I can have a bunch of friends over and my kids sleep right through the whole gathering. Can't live with out them if you own a very open concept home. These machines also are a great soothing device if your kids have to go off and sleep over at grandmas...a quiet, and familiar sound to help with an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar sounds in the night...its like a big person soother and blankie.

I've been sleeping with white noise for years ( from an old TV perched precariously on top of a dresser)! The need for the background noise first arose when I worked night shifts as a nurse, and now it is necessary to muffle the noise of my CPAP machine which I use to prevent snoring and sleep apnea. This sound machine was recommended by our sleep doula and as soon as we switch off the lights and turn on the sound machine our twins already close their eyes and bed or nap time is easy. We used to have an old iphone with a sound machine app for our older son but the phone often had to reboot and we decided to order another one and he loves it and changes the tunes as he wishes before going to bed. He wen switches it on and off himself (he's 2 1/2). This is a BIG help in our family and couldn't image our routines without it.

I did some research on sound machines and chose this one as it seemed the best value. I am VERY pleased with it! The timer is just an option, if you turn the machine on and don't touch the timer button it will stay on until you turn it off, which is how I use it- background noise all night. I go between Rain and Brook. My only complaint would be that the sounds seem to be on a 6-second loop which I notice if I'm having trouble sleeping.

The best sound machine ever! We have 3 in our house. The oldest is 2 years old. One for each kid and one to drown out my husband's snoring. I hosted bookclub at my house a few weeks ago with a 4 month old and a 2.5 year old sleeping, neither kid woke up. Glad that the birds are gone from the ocean noises. Also, the power supply went on ours, as others mentioned, we took it back to the store, without any issues.

I would give this a 3. We bought this product several months ago. It worked great for the first couple of months, but now you have to adjust the dial quite a bit for the sounds to continue coming through. Usually the sound breaks up and the machine goes silent a few times before I can get it to start working but afterwards it does work for the entire time. A bit annoying, but okay otherwise.

I love this sound machine - better than using my air cleaner full bore which sucks up electricity. This small machine does what it promises to do. I just use the white noise at a low volume and it blocks out many unwanted noises.

Got this because we were using a small fan for white noise but it seems to make room too cool now that weather is getting cooler. Also I feel like not falling asleep as fast with the sound on; maybe just me used to total silence for bed? I love this sound machine! The sounds are clear and I find them so relaxing. We use this sound machine for my daughter while she sleeps, and for ourselves. I wish I had gotten one of these sooner! We have gone through 3 sleep sheep and my daughter would wake up seconds after the timer on it turned the sounds off.
With the present model I also love that it plugs in and that we aren't dependent on batteries. We did pack this up to take on a cross country road trip earlier in the month. It's small size make it easy to take along.
I do recommend this product and so far another couple of machines were bought by family and friends based on our experiences. Happy sleeping!

This has been a lifesaver for our baby. We have a small house, and use it every nap time and night so that we dont' have to tip-toe around quietly. The 2 sounds that would have worked for me (rain & waterfall) were problematic. Rain had a very short loop so that the same sounds were cycling through quickly so became annoying rather than soothing. The waterfall had a distant "bonging" sound that was intrusive. However the size, useability, and volume control of the unit were all good. Maybe this is good for babies but not necessarily for adults with insomnia.

This product is what I was looking for. It is quite calming and I like that there are timed intervals on it, so it can turn off at your selected time. It really helps to calm your mind down as you fall asleep and does a great job at drowning out any outside stimulating noise. In my opinion, I think that the ocean sound could have the tide run a little slower to help with falling asleep. This machine is lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space on your night-table. I highly recommend it. Love the battery or plug in to an electric outlet option.

I love this little guy! I find I have trouble falling asleep and sounds, like cars traveling down the street, or doors slamming and such keep me awake or wake me up when I finally do get to sleep. The sounds on this machine actually relax me and I can more easily get to sleep and drown out the background noise that would wake me up in the night. I especially love the ocean waves, which remind me of a real beach with ocean waves. I also use the rain and the waterfall. Lots of choices. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a full night's rest.

What a God-send this machine has been. We have a 3 year old son and 11 month old baby girl, every night we had one waking up the other and it was a mad house! I'm still in the process of figuring out whether to mail back for a replacement cord or if it's the machine itself. I have to wiggle the cord around to find the right place to work. Bought this for our 6 month old as she transitioned to sleeping in her crib full time in her own room. We had been using a Sleep Sheep but the sound turns off after 45 mins and babe would always wake up. The Sound Therapy machine runs all night and really helps the little one sleep bertter. When it turns on, she knows it's sleep time. The machine was much smaller than I had anticipated, making it easy to take along to grandparent's for sleepovers. Our kids always sleep in later than normal when it is raining out, so I bought two of these to put into their rooms. I would like to give them a 5 out of 5, but I cannot as I do not think that the sounds are "quality". Yes, the sound like their description, but the sounds are very basic.
Again, it works as advertised and promised, but I am not overly happy with the sounds. Summer night is just crickets, rain is just a daunting rain (but I am glad for no thunder sounds). Heartbeat sounds exactly like you would hear in the delivery room when hooked up to the monitor... not relaxing for a parent of three...
I can safely say 'buy this' as it is a great product, just be prepared for less than quality sounds.

We have one in each of our children's rooms, and I am amazed on a daily basis at how well they work to block out the noise of the other child. This has especially been a life saver since our children are on different nap schedules.
The sounds are very soothing, but I usually just leave it on "waterfall" since that sounds the most like plain white noise. The volume is great, it is definitely loud enough to block out normal background house noises.

Terrible product. Worked great at first, but with continued use, the volume dial started acting up and the sound would crackle in and out and not work. I have to wiggle the dial to find a spot that works. I sent the unit back under the warranty and got a replacement unit which is now doing the exact same thing. I won't buy anything again with a power/volume dial as this must be a common problem.

Overall this is a good sound machine. We've been using it for nearly three years since our first child was born and its helped both children sleep through the night and naps. It's nice and compact so it's very easy to travel with and the battery back-up is a bonus. Our kids can sleep through anything. We keep it on through the entire sleep so it gets a lot of use. The thing I don't like about it is that we're on our third one since the sound tends to start going in and out after a few months. We've still been able to use it once it starts doing this but it tends to get worse after a while. The company replaced our first one but we just had to buy this third one since the warranty had expired.
I'm giving it four stars simply because of lack of longevity. Besides that we've loved using it.

My partner and I (29 27) used to have a fan in our room to help him sleep - he's a light sleeper and has difficulty falling asleep to my breathing sounds (I exhale heavily). When the fan broke, I decided to purchase this little guy and am extremely glad I did! We only have it on 'rain' for night time sleeping as the other sounds cycle too quickly/ abruptly but he likes the 'summer nights' for relaxing or baths as it reminds him of growing up in Ontario! The only con is that I find myself having to get up more often to use the washroom in the wee hours with the water sounds! Definitely recommend giving it a shot for the $30 and I will be replacing this once it dies out - nothing like a good night's sleep for both of us!

Unlike other similar products this one doesn't automatically turn off after a certain period of time. You can leave it on all night if you want. Also love the a/c adaptor and battery power options.

I absolutely love this product. I have two of them. I use one for my son's room and one for ours as our newborn is sleeping in there to begin with.
It has a timer, so if you don't want it on all night, it can turn off automatically or play all night.
The fact that it is also able to travel when you do and use batteries is an added benefit - especially if you head outside of North America where you would need an adapter to plug it in.

Answer: 2. The product does what it has been promised to do. I have tinnitus and the "white" sound diverts my attention from the annoying ringing in my ears. However, for my tastes, I would prefer some choices of soothing classical music.

This product is great for the first year. If you intend on using it on a regular basis don't expect it to last very long. We use it for our kids each night and at nap time and we have had to replace it three times now because the sound starts cutting in and out.

This is a good product and has helped my two-year-old learn to sleep well. She now has a newborn baby brother and my now three-year-old still sleeps very well, not hearing her brother's cries. And my newborn sleeps amazingly well and I'm firmly convinced it's due to the rainfall setting on this machine. The only problem is that my first machine developed a static problem (the sound would be interrupted with silence which may or may not last longer than five seconds) at around month 10 forcing you to turn it up very loud in order for the static to stop interrupting the sound.
