The gold shadow in this eyeshadow compact is phenomenal. I have never seen a better gold shadow. MAC doesn't even have anything that measures up to this. It is an intensely bright gold with high shine, even from a distance. The darker shadow, however, is not a dark brown shade as it appears to be in the photo. It's black with gold flecks, which was rather disappointing. I was wanting an earth tone. The written descriptions for these shadows should be made more clear so people are aware of this before they buy.
