This sound machine works beautifully. It is compact which makes it easy to take with you when travelling and the option to plug in or use batteries makes it very adaptable. The volume dial works well and it allows you to get just the right amount of sound. I used this machine to help my child learn to sleep through the night and the rainfall setting was perfect. I would definitely recommend it especially for parents with children.

I like the portable sound machine as it is very easy to pack for trips (slim shape and very light weight) and it really helps me to sleep, especially in a new surrounding where there are different noises than I am used to. Love this product. Bought it about 5 months ago for our first trip with our baby and have used it every day since. I really like the multiple sounds and timer settings. Unlike other similar products this one doesn't automatically turn off after a certain period of time. You can leave it on all night if you want. Also love the a/c adaptor and battery power options.

We bought this because our baby sleeps in our room with us and is a very light sleeper who wakes often. We've only had it a few weeks but the baby has not been awakened at night since we bought it. The rain setting is incredibly soothing and comforting and works very well to block out other household noise. The first night we had it on, I slept like a baby. Considering how inexpensive this item is, it is a phenomenal value.

I purchased this for my daughter and have since purchased 2 more (for my younger daughter and my husband and me too). It is a wonderful product. We use the waterfall setting and it drowns out household noise perfectly! We also love to use the summer night setting when getting the children ready for bed. Nice and soothing. I love it! I use it in my 4 and 3 year olds (shared) bedroom. It drowns out the noise my 11 month old makes when going to sleep or if he wakes up during the night, so they have a peacfull nights sleep. It is easy to use and works wonderfully!

I absolutely love this product. I have two of them. I use one for my son's room and one for ours as our newborn is sleeping in there to begin with.
It has a timer, so if you don't want it on all night, it can turn off automatically or play all night.
The fact that it is also able to travel when you do and use batteries is an added benefit - especially if you head outside of North America where you would need an adapter to plug it in.
I don't have a negative to say about it actuallyk, so here's a 5 star rating.

Answer: 2. The product does what it has been promised to do. I have tinnitus and the "white" sound diverts my attention from the annoying ringing in my ears. However, for my tastes, I would prefer some choices of soothing classical music.

This product is great for the first year. If you intend on using it on a regular basis don't expect it to last very long. We use it for our kids each night and at nap time and we have had to replace it three times now because the sound starts cutting in and out.

This is a good product and has helped my two-year-old learn to sleep well. She now has a newborn baby brother and my now three-year-old still sleeps very well, not hearing her brother's cries. And my newborn sleeps amazingly well and I'm firmly convinced it's due to the rainfall setting on this machine. The only problem is that my first machine developed a static problem (the sound would be interrupted with silence which may or may not last longer than five seconds) at around month 10 forcing you to turn it up very loud in order for the static to stop interrupting the sound.

Great machine. I bought this for my infant son who was having trouble napping with the noise his older brother makes while playing, and it has worked like a charm. Great volume range and sound selection, and the unit is quite small, which is a bonus. My only complaint is some of the melodies are a bit fake and rough sounding. The ocean waves could be much more pleasant and relaxing than they are, and the waterfall is really just static-like white noise, although it's actually a pretty good one for a baby. Overall decent product and I'm happy with my purchase.

I bought this product to have in my babies nursery. With two older brother running around, it helps him nap during the day and also helps him fall back to sleep when he wakes in the middle of the night. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of the product at a reasonable price.

The different sound options are fine, however, it stopped working the second time it was turned on even though fresh batteries were used. It was discovered that the battery contacts were dirty. This is how the unit was manufactured, with insufficiently clean contacts so that the batteries were useless.

I love it! I purchased this to use in my 5 month old daughters room. It really helps to block out other noises in the house during naps and to relax her at night. The sounds are so realistic and calming. It is easy to use.. even with a baby in your arms. I am considering getting a second one for my room!

Great product, easy to use, would like to have seen at least 2-3 more sound options such as wind through leafy trees or pine trees and waves on the beach without the bird sounds, a more gurgley creek sound or water fall would be great as well. I have better dreams and also the machine helps block out traffic sounds too.

I have had an Obus Forme sound therapy machine for years and I don't know what I'd do without it. I've even used the heartbeat sound for kittens that I've rescued! It works great! As for me, I have Tinnitus in both ears, so it soothes me to sleep with the comforting sounds. My unit is an older model with a few extra sounds, but the newer model found here should be just as great! I would recommend this machine for anyone. Thanks, Obus Forme, for allowing me a wonderful, peaceful sleep, instead of having to deal with the severe ringing in my ears every night. I also use the machine during the day to help quiet the Tinnitus.

great concept/ product for the most part. the only issue I have is sometimes I notice some static sounds on the machine. seems to be when my cell phone is near it. my cell phone has been cutting out alot when I have the machine on as well. not sure if these are related. otherwise, i enjoy it. the timer option is great.

I purchased two of these sound machines for my children and the sounds they make are great, but the volume buttons started to malfunction on both machines after about six months. I had to put a toothpick into the button hole to keep the volume on. After one year, neither of them worked at all. I would not recommend this particular model.

We purchased this item as a "white noise" machine for our newborn baby. We love it! It has different sounds including a heartbeat which is very soothing to our son. It is the perfect size for travelling. Also, we live in northern Ontario where the power goes out frequently, and the back-up battery option saves us! Everything goes off in the house except this machine. We definately recommend this product. On a side note re: the reviews on the **** breaking...we had to purchase a second one because we jammed ours in a bag and bent the ****, so of course it broke. Our second one runs every night for 12 hours plus his naps, and there is no problem with it at all.

This is a great product - lightweight, the volume goes loud enough which has been a problem with other sound machines. The only negative thing to add is that the speakers blow out after awhile I use it in my kids rooms and we need to buy one every year.

Piece of ****. We have owned 4 in less than 2 years. I don't know why we keep on buying them. They are fine when they work but that is very rarely. The sound keeps cutting out and we have to fiddle the **** to stop the sound from cutting out. Then it dies half way through the night. We just replaced our "old" one yesterday and the new one just stopped working. This has happened to all 4 that we have had now. I don't think it is just a coincidence. Would not recommend this product at all.

Athough I LOVE this machine for it's white noise that works wonders for my daughter's sleep, I have had to purchase THREE (yes THREE) of them over the past 1.5 years as they keep breaking. The **** that works the volume is very fragile, and after a few months of use, the **** stops working and the sound cuts in and out at random. Not all that helpful when you are trying to use it for sleep! If they could resolve this problem I would give the product a 5/5. Until then, a 2 :(

We have a 4month old and a 2year old in rooms beside each other. This product has helped their sleeps be more restful as each child has one in their room to help block out any noise that might be disturbing to them. We use the rain setting which offers a very realistic and soothing sound. When our 4month old wakes crying during the night for a feed, the machine volume offers enough options to set it loud enough so that our other son doesn't even notice. It is a great product that I would definitely recommend for relaxation, particularly to aid with sleep for young children.

My 4 months old baby girl is a great sleeper (7 to 12 hours per night). She kept waking up 2 or 3 times right after she was put to bed, so I had to go back and pet her back for 5 minutes to put her back to sleep. I have the sleep sheep that makes soothing sounds too, however, it stops after 45 minutes. A friend suggesteg the Obus Forme.
The Obus Forme is great as there is the possibility to have continuous white noise. Since then, she sleeps her 7 to 12 hours without waking up at all !!! My husband and I love it too as it really help us sleep better. Every nursering room should have one!

Love this product -it's the key to my 18 month-old's sound sleep. The best part is that it can play continuously all night & the various sound options (my little one likes "rain"). If you're traveling in Europe I'd recommend using the battery option rather than the AC adapter with a converter. We used our first one in Europe with a converter and it fried the AC adapter. But the machine itself still kept on working w/ batteries no problem. We're now on our second one and swear by it.

I have been using this machine for the last 8 months with my daughter during naptimes and nighttime sleeps and it has a good range of sounds and the volume level gets loud enough to drown out background noises from outside. However, when you turn the volume **** the sound cuts in and out and I find there are times when the volume shuts off for a minute or so here and there. I run it for 15+ hours a day and it still works other than the volume **** glitch.

We bought this for use in our holiday trailer after our son slept poorly on our first trip. He is used to the fan that we run in our bedroom at home. Since we got this product he is sleeping just as well in the trailer. I love the battery feature in the trailer as we don't always have 120V to plug it in. Worked 2 full nights on one set of batteries which I thought was pretty good for AA's.

We actually own two of these machines, one for each of my children. It's a great cue for them when it's sleep time, and helps block out the noise of my infant while my toddler sleeps. We have taken this on vacation with is, and I enjoy using the timer when we're using batteries so they don't drain out. I use this machine all night long so I don't hear the shuffling of my senior citizen mom on her many treks to the bathroom. Earplugs didn't do the trick, but the crickets, rain and shore sure do. The amazing thing is that the sound (even though I have it quite loud) isn't in my dreams, but seems like it just turns on when I wake up. The only problem is that I now don't hear any mosquitoes in my bedroom until they are right by my ear!

Love this machine but the main sound I bought it for (ocean) has seagulls in it. This product would get a 6/5 from me if it didn`t have the birds in it. I like that it doesn`t only use batteries as we have it on all night. Our 5 month old still sleeps in our room and he has begun sleeping through the night since we started using the sound machine.

We are very happy with our purchase. We turn this on at night when our 4 month old goes to bed. Over time hes come to associate it with bed time and will sometimes settle himself and go to sleep if I put him in his bassinet while awake but gearing towards sleep. We use it to cut out any unexpected noises from us which might wake him during the night. It lets us clean, watch TV etc without waking him.

I love this product. I have a three month old and a two year old in joining rooms. I purchased a machine for each room, on continous play all night, and the boys sleep no problem. My three month old wakes screaming for a bottle at 3am and the 2 year old has never been woken up by him. Portable and easy to travel with due to the batteries. We use the rain noise mostly and it blocks out all the noises in the house. I LOVE IT !

We spend the winters by the Gulf in Florida. My husband finds that the sounds of the waves help him sleep so much better. Back home he wasn't getting the same quality of sleep, so I bought him the Sound Therapy Relaxation System and now he is sleeping to the sound of the waves alll year round. His only minor disappointment with it is the sound of birds on the ocean wave tape. It bothers him until he falls asleep.

Great sound machine- lots of sound options to choose from. Sounds are well done and you can't hear when they loop- truly continous. Machine is great to use in a baby's room. Continuous play option is a great feature lacking from other baby white noise products. The machine is also very durable and has survived a couple falls off tables.

This sound system is fantastic! I use it still with my 2 yr old and it really helps sooth her to sleep. It's so small and easy to bring anywhere. If you go camping the battery option is great. It drowns out all the noise by the campfire and makes taking naps a little easier. I also use it and my only complaintt is it's hard to now go to sleep without it!

I love this product - I mostly use the rain or waterfall and putting it on for one hour really helps me get to sleep. I am seldom still awake when it goes off after the hour and I do sleep better. Plan on buying a second one and would recommend it highly, especially at that price.

I love this product so much that I bought two of them so that I can have one in each of my kids rooms. I agree that some of the sounds don't work well for sleeping, but you only need one sound that you like anyway. I use the rain sound primarily and have it on any time my kids are sleeping. I have a nine month old and have been doing kitchen renos. My dad was using the jigsaw which was extremely loud and my son was able to sleep through it all with the sound machine on. The volume control is great, although some sounds are quieter than others. My favorite feature is that you can put batteries in it for easy travelling. I plan to use it in the summer when we go camping. Highly recommend this product, especially for those with children.

I bought this project for my baby's room. We live in a very old house with very creaky floors, and everytime we walked by her room, she would wake up. Now she sleeps through everything, and we don't have to worry about being quiet. I also bought one for my own room! My only complaint, as others have already said, is that some of the sounds are not so great for sleeping. I really like to sleep to the 'rain' sound, but the raindrops are a bit annoying. However, for the price, I think it's a great product!

I found this product while trying to find a similar one given to me for Christmas. Unfortunately it (the Conair Sound Therapy Relaxation System) was only available at my local drugstore over Christmas. Over all, I prefer the Conair. It does not have as many annoying lights (why would you want lights when you're trying to sleep?), and it was considerably cheaper. Although the Obus unit has better quality sounds, it has much fewer of them, and does not have my personal favourite -- the stream. I bought three of the Obus Sound Therapy and gave them all to friends & family, but kept the original Conair for myself. I love it, and hope that they sell them again next Christmas!

Love this product. It's true, the bird sounds aren't great for sleeping with, but great to have on as ambient noise when the kids are playing. The waterfall and the rain are great for sleeping. We leave it on all night in our kids' room.

It's quite good, but I would prefer more choice sound of sounds without distractions. Although hearing birds and individual rain drops are soothing, it's not so good to sleep on. The waterfall, however, is very good to help sleeping with tinnitus.

I totally love my Obus Forme sound machine. A friend of mine loaned me her Conair when I moved into a new apartment and couldn't sleep because of the neighbour's television. I have anxiety problems; and the sounds of nature calm me and help me sleep- it also helps to calm panic attacks when a sudden noise wakes me up. I find that with the Obus Forme machine; the sounds are much more realistic. So it is nicer than the Conair. I do wish that more volume was available; sometimes it's not enough if the distracting noises are really loud.
Other than that, I have no complaint. In fact I have returned to this site because I'm going to buy a second one so that I can have "more" nature sounds. By the way; animals love them too- when my cats are frightened or not feeling well they curl up next to the machine!

Sounds are realistic, fantastic product! I love how you can plug it in and it takes batteries for home or on the road.

Very nice, easy to operate- the rain and waterfall are quite tranquil. I have found this helpful in falling back asleep, meditation is not easy for me , I have an active mind. Worth the cost and not having to work with a CD player, the timers are very convenient, although I am running mine all night.
Received my machine in record time and in good shape.

Not a good product. This machine has an annoying "click" sound every 5 or 6 seconds, when the sound track recycles. Also the "ocean" sound, which is my favorite sound, has screeching seagulls in the background which is not pleasant and is distracting. I would not recommend this product.

I was iffy on whether this was going to help my baby sleep better (he is 7.5 months and an okay sleeper but a light sleeper). He immediately was able to get himself back to sleep without me going in to give him his soother. He went from waking 3-4 times a night to not at all for the last 4 nights (I've used the sound machine for 4 nights)! I don't know if it is coincidence but it sure didn't hurt.

Great product. The waterfall sound is very similar to that of a fan. I had run a fan in the baby'ss room all summer but now that it is fall I can run the noise machine instead. Perfect! The only thing that would make this product better is having the volume and on/off separate so that you don't have to turn the knob to the desired volume each time.

For the two dollars more, get the conair sound therapy clock radio... just as good as a sound machine but also a useful alarm clock.

I've used this with all my kids. I've found that it helps soothe them to sleep and best of all, it drowns out the sound of noisy siblings during nap times. It's come along on vacations and works wonders to make sure your little one can sleep in a strange sounding environment. When the kids get older, they enjoy pressing the buttons to discover the other sounds which add cool sound effects during imaginative playtime. Excellent product.

We have been using this machine for about a year and half now. My son loved noise of kitchen fun so we put his bassinette in the kitchen until he grew out from it. The machine works as good as the fun :) We take the machine to trips and outings as well. Quite few mom friends asked me where they can get one. Good investiment!!
