Research has shown that Thiamine (Vitamin B1), the key ingredient in OmeZone Defend, when topically applied, actually helps repel insects like mosquitoes and flies. The thiamine-based formulation of OmeZone Defend works with the body's own chemistry to create an invisible protective “barrier” that shields the user from mosquitoes and other biting insects. My son is highly allergic to mosquitos so when we're camping etc... this is a fantastic option instead of spraying chemical mosquito repellents on him all day long. We have found them to be very effective and don't bother him to wear.

This is the first product that has prevented mosquito bites from my daughter. She usually is loved by the mosquitoes and has anaphylatic reactions (& epipens are expensive!) We used this patch while camping and she played in the sand, went swimming numerous times and wasn't touched by the mosquitos until having the patch on for over 24 hours and even then it was just one bite. We are believers and will be regular users!

I have only tried this 2x so far. But I really think it DOES help. I'm usually eaten alive while others are fairly comfortable. With this patch I didn't get any bites the both times I used it! If you put the patch somewhere fleshy like your hip or thigh it works better. The vitamin needs to make it into your body so you can sweat it back out of your pores. You might be able to smell it a tad, but no one else should notice (and it doesn't smell as bad or strong as Deet). If you sweat it will actually work better, which is opposite of bug spray.

My whole family (2 adults and 2 kids) tried it a few times and it does not prevent mosquitoes from biting you in the Canadian (Ontario) bush.

Myself and 4 other fishermen put on the patch as prescribed. Went fishing in a marsh area for northern pike. Not one of us felt there was any protection from this product. We all had untold numbers of mosquito bites. We were so covered in mosquito's that when any of us wiped an exposed area of our skin as many as 10 were kiled at a time. The day after I have hundreds of swollen bumps on my skin.
