This supplement works extremely well for me. My main symptoms of iron deficiency are extreme fatigue and hair loss. Massive hair loss. With this supplement, my energy is good and my hair is beautifully shinny. More importantly, it stay on my head! The constipation has not been an issue for me but I do have a very high fibber diet which, I think, is preventing the constipation. The need to take the supplement on a completely empty stomach is a bit of a compliance issue but I take it two hours after breakfast and one hour before lunch. Absorbtion seems fine.

During my current pregnancy, I was using Palafer CM, however, I found it had a very negative effect on my bowels, and as any pregnant woman knows, YOU DON'T NEED ANY HINDRANCES in that department while expecting. So, I switched to Slow Fe, which is a slow release iron supplement, and I have found it much more cooperative with my bowels.
