With all due respect to the previous reviewer, George, I totally disagree with his low evaluation of the Sonicare. It was recommended to me by my dentist and hygienist who do not sell the product so there is no conflict of interest. There is no comparing the two. You could brush with a manual tooth for 10 or 15 minutes and it won't clean your teeth as well as the Sonicare can in two minutes. You can even tell the difference by scraping your tooth with your fingernail after brushing your teeth with the Sonicare. It literally squeeks clean. I have slightly sensitive gums and do not have a problem with it.

Having bought two of the products, one for my wife and one for myself following the recomendations of our dentist, we both found the vibration of the stem on our teeth was extremely uncomfortable. We are both nearing 80 years of age, it may be that our teeth are more sensitive than those of younger persons. We do not use this product now and have reverted to conventional tooth brushes.
