Not many parents nowadays are aware that if their children refrain from passing excrement every day, the bacteria within the excrement re-enters the bloodstream, weakening the immune system. For this reason nothing is more important that the establishment of a regular bowel movement habit. Very young children often go through a phase where, for dietary or psychological reasons, they cannot "do a dooey" without suppository-stimulation. You have to keep trying everything to get them to "do a dooey". The suppository is mild enough to use for weeks at a stretch.
Inserting a suppository: Lay her on her back and lift up her legs. Rub some vaseline on her botom hole. Take the suppository and push it all the way up, with your index finger. Perhaps she will cry when you push it in, but it is not hurting her, it's just the insertion making her uncomfortable. Anyway, within 5 to 10 minutes the suppository will make her do a big dooey, so it is worth the trouble
