Sambucol is a unique black elderberry extract rich in immune supporting flavonoids. I love it! A great tasting, great results product. I love natural/organic products and this seems like a keeper.

I started using it one month ago because my son used to get viral fever every 2 weeks .i read on the internet about this as this increases the flavenoids in the body which increases the resistance against viral infections and it is clinically tested so i give it one teaspoon every single day to my son and i really see the difference. he is not getting fever for the past whole month.so it is really the hope for moms whose kids get viral fever few time a month. I am still in a process to try it a bit more.

So far, this seems a great purchase. It's an awesome way to naturally boost our immune system, and fight off the flu. I use it for my 3-yr old as well, only giving him 1 tsp (instead of buying the children's formula).

I like this product a lot. I do find that it reduces the severity of colds & flu. I have also used it for my children as suggested by another review on this site. The reason I only gave this product 4 stars is that I prefer the childrens syrup in flavour. I do not use it everyday as a preventative only because of the cost. I also asked my GP about this product & she said that there is not a lot of research to back up it's claims, but if I find it works to keep using it. I do find that it works!

The active ingredient in this product is in the family of antioxidants called salvestrols. Salvestrols included the antioxidant found in red wine, resveratrol, that is famous for keeping the French heart disease-free despite a high fat diet. This product is true to its claim of speeding recovery from coughs, colds and the flu. I bought the adult version and just cut the dosage in half for my child, limiting use to only 4 days. Within 4 days, his stubborn cough was gone! The only thing I would change about this product to make it a perfect 5 is to make it not quite so sweet.
