No steam at all. I might as well fill a ceramic bowl with hot water and put a vicks steam pad in it. Would probably be more effective than this product. Might work well with toddlers though.

This vaposteam inhaler is very good as this unit helps my grandchild to breath better as she suffers from allergies.

This little gem is a god send. My daughter has asthma and caught an upper respiratory tract infection that she can't take anything with, so in conjunction with her meds, i put some really hot water in it with the vick's pad and had her inhale it for 10 mins (supervised of course with the hot water) and she has not coughed once. I use it when she gets a cold too at night and it puts her right to sleep with no coughing...a gem i can tell you...well worth the 15.00 bucks
