Tell Us Where The Name \u2018Accidental Environmentalist\u2019 Came From?<\/h2>\n

I call myself that because I started on this journey towards sustainability really, by accident! In my 20\u2019s, coming off from working abroad as a model in the fashion industry, I wanted to create my own pieces, so I launched Preloved. I started by just taking thrifted and vintage pieces, re-cutting them, and upcycling them into cool, unique pieces. The intention right out of the gate was just to make one-of-a-kind clothing, I didn\u2019t realize we were actively diverting textile waste. When we realized the impact, it became a core part of the business, and 29 years later, we\u2019ve diverted over a million sweaters from landfills. I\u2019ve really seen the impact of small changes, and today it’s my mission to inspire others to create meaningful little changes that will leave the planet better than we found it.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

How Do You Approach Goal Setting For the New Year?<\/h2>\n

I love a January reset, but I prefer to think of it as setting up challenges for the new year. Challenging yourself to try something new, learn something new, practice something a little bit more. It doesn\u2019t have to be super difficult; it could be as simple as perfecting two new plant-based recipes or offering to run an elderly neighbour\u2019s errands once a month, joining a walking group, just something that inspires you. For 2024, I\u2019ve set a challenge to meditate at least 3 days a week!<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What Is Your Number One Intention For 2024?<\/h2>\n

A habit I\u2019m hoping to try \u2013 and maintain for 2024 is to walk more, anything that could be 15-minute car ride, I\u2019m going to walk it instead!<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What Does Wellness Mean To You?<\/h2>\n

To me wellness means being your best self. Wellness is such a gift and I’m so privileged to be able to take care of myself, and my mental and physical health. To be able to do the things that make me the happiest, it’s incredibly valuable.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A lovely family dinner, that ends with a spotless kitchen, that I didn\u2019t have to clean. A little nightcap and catch up with my husband, and I\u2019m tucked into bed by 9:00 PM. Yes, seriously.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
