In 1957, Chicago Art Director, Ernie Allen, draws Mr. Clean as a muscular, tan, bald man who cleans things very well. Meanwhile, the brand’s jingle is written and recorded on a tape recorder by Thomas Scott Cadden, which later became the longest running jingle in television history. The Mr. Clean mascot is still going strong today, and so is its reliable cleaning power.
