incomplete, unclear directions, and disappointing experiments/activities
I purchased this kit for my 7 year old daughter, who loves all things science. Though she was content to work her way through the activities, here's what we noticed: the directions for each of the magnet science activities were incomplete. There were diagrams, but they showed only some of the steps, with unclear perspective. As a result, she had difficulty using the kit independently, which is usually easy for her. When she was able to decipher what the instructions were directing her to do with each of the pieces, most of the activities were pretty obvious--moving magnets or metal pieces with other magnets. They were simple, and didn't add much to the playing she did with the kit on her own, playing with the pieces as she removed them from the box. I bought this kit thinking that it would offer a curious kid some interesting twists on playing with magnets, but there was nothing interesting about it.
