The first time I bought this I had a hard time with the sharp chemical smell and taste - I used it to make icing for my son's cake and you could really taste the "fakeness". That being said, when you use it for frying (I fried some cabbage and turnips) and it tasted great. So I think either it takes some getting used to or it needs to be used in something cooked. I like it on porridge too. I am now on my 3rd jar because I prefer the ingredients to those of vegan margarine.

Never again
This stuff is gross!! It tastes nothing like coconut oil OR butter. Did Nutiva not try it before they started selling it? BLECH! It has the most phony, chemical smell, I thought, "it can't possibly taste as bad." I was wrong! The taste was worse. I couldn't use this on anything; it was a total waste of money. Nutiva should change the formula.

Tastes fake
Unfortunately I'm one of those people who found the flavour just awful. I was trying to think of how to describe the flavour and it tastes like a butter-flavoured jelly bean--which isn't what you want when you're going for real food. I can't stomach the flavour and will be giving the jar away or throwing it out.

Delicious
Buttery and delicious. Better than I expected. Use in place of butter in baking, on toast, even in my bulletproof coffee. Kids can’t tell the difference
