Given that we have to keep a box on the ground floor for our very old cat this is the best litter I can find for the purpose. It absorbs odors completely and is lightweight enough that I can pick the box up and clean it on top of the dryer. It also has the advantage that not all the cats like it so they go down in the basement where the clay litter is. Makes my cleanup a lot easier!

I've been using this product for about 2 years now for my 2 cats and it's perfect for such a "multi-cat" household. The only things needed to be remembered are that it needs to be cleaned and topped up frequently, but preferably when the clumps have had time to solidify, and the box needs to be washed and changed out with fresh litter at least once a month. With a single cat it may not be as much an issue and may be pushed to once every other month. For odour control it's great, just the waste can smell pretty bad when compiling it in a diaper pail until it gets full enough to toss int he garbage, and if sifted properly as cleaned, the solid waste can be flushed.

Love this litter! Easy to clean ('cause it's light), clumps well. It's safer than clay for cat's digestive system if they get some stuck between their toes and need to clean it out. Also, It's really good for cats with sensitivities to dust and/or perfume. My cat was getting runny eyes for a previous litter. Since I changed to this, her eyes have cleared up. I tried a few others, but this one has really been the best in ways of smell, clumping and cat's health.
It can smell strongly of baking soda after the cat uses it, but usually only when it needs to be cleaned.

I liked the idea this was natural.. I was concerned that she may not accept her new litter after 17 years of clay/stone. .. I mixed in a little at a time with her old existing clay stuff until it was about half & half.. and then we took it from there. She didnt seem to mind the change. The smell is strong out of the bag, not a bad smell, but strong, and a bit too chemically for me so there was some concern there.. I havent noticed that her box smells less.. to me its the same, or maybe even a bit more smelly.. still, Im sure its better for her than the clay stuff. I also dont see it all over my carpets as much as I used to see the stone.. overall, great product, lightweight, easy to scoop.. but a bit expensive.
