Benylin Extra Strength Sore Throat & Cough Syrup, 250 mL, is formulated to provide fast relief of your sore throat pain and wet cough. This fast-acting formula soothes your irritated throat while also providing effective relief of sore throat pain, wet cough, chest congestion and stuffy nose. Each 5 mL or 1 teaspoonful (tsp.) contains 200 mg of expectorant Guaifenesin to thin and loosen phlegm and mucus and 15 mg anesthetic/decongestant Menthol to help relieve sore throat pain and relieve stuffy nose.
Dosage: To use, Adults and children 12 years and older, take 2 tsp. (10 mL) every 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed a total of 8 tsp. (40 mL) per day.
Read the complete carton and label before use and follow all directions. Security feature: Seal over bottle opening. Store at 15 to 30oC.
Warnings: Do not use with other products containing any of these medicinal ingredients or other cough/cold medications or if allergic to any of the ingredients. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking other medications, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a persistent cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma or emphysema, have difficulty breathing or other chronic lung conditions. Stop use and ask a doctor if you develop allergic wheezing, rash or itching, sore throat pain lasts for more than 2 days, new symptoms appear, your symptoms worsen, or last for more than 7 days, are accompanied by a high fever (>38°C), persistent headache, or the production of thick, yellow/green phlegm. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. In Case of Overdose: Call a Poison Control Centre or doctor immediately, even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.

Does what it says
Does everything it says, acts fairly quickly and lasts a long time . I took it at night because it made me sleepy; I suspect that may be an age-related matter.

Works great
I notice someone’s review stated it did nothing for their dry cough so my recommendation is get the product that says dry cough relief not wet cough relief. With this product you have to make sure you but the right one.

Worst product ever had.
The product is just a waste of money. I relied on it for 3 days but not even a single day i was relieved from dry cough and sore throat. Interestingly the syrup didn’t make a difference at the time of having it. The time i consumed it, not even for few seconds i felt relieved from any of the symptoms they claim to cure.
Totally waste of time and patience.
