I LOVE this can opener. I have weak wrists which are very prone to tendonitis so the manual can openers are just too hard on my hands. I love that this really is one push if anhutton and it stops itself when it's done. The only problem I had with this can opener is not replacing/recharging the batteries frequently enough. I had one can opener die on me when the batteries ran down and there was no way I could get it to unlatch or to somehow slide the bottom off to replace the batteries. We had to destroy the can opener to get it off and buy another. But, it is so useful to me, and my kids, that we didn't hesitate to get another. My only suggestion would be to regularly replace the batteries or get rechargeable batteries and charge them regularly.

I too have weak wrists and find this is the worst can opener I have ever bought. The price is too high for something that will not release the lid!!!!!
No matter how you try and try to release that lid, it just won't! I am an older woman on a fixed income and can't afford throw away products....And too, I have my 30 yr. old granddaughter who live's upstairs from me and she nor her husband can release it either except for much pulling and tugging!!!!! Rediculos!!!

Gave as a gift to my mom for Xmas and it worked wonderfully, as her bulky automated one had just died. It did a great job and the magnet in the opener held the top of the can neatly as promised. It can be put away in a drawer easily as well and won`t take up cupboard space like the old ones.
