Canadian Heritage Organics - Organic Maple Syrup
Light Maple Syrup is considered the highest quality, with a delicate taste and light colour. Generally speaking, the darker the colour, the stronger the flavour. Once manufactured, Maple Syrup is graded by producers to meet Federal Standards. Grades refer to the colour and flavour of the syrup. The grades of Maple Syrup are:
  • No. 1 – Extra Light, Light, or Medium
  • No. 2 - Amber
  • No. 3 - Dark
Light Maple Syrup is obtained at the beginning of the production season when the temperature change between night and day is extreme. Dark Maple Syrup is achieved at the season end when temperature changes are very slight. Medium Maple Syrup is acquired in mid season, when temperature changes are moderate. Nature decides which grade of Maple Syrup you receive. Light Maple Syrup is considered the highest quality, with a delicate taste and light colour. Generally speaking, the darker the colour, the stronger the flavour.

Nice, medium dark syrup, good balanced flavor and aroma, and maybe a little too sweet. I like a very dark maple taste, and this almost got there. I'd probably like it with even more darkness, but I think the price and quality are very good, and if you don't want the syrup to overwhelm your dish, then this might be just right for you.

There may have been something wrong with my product ....... tasted bizarre ! Maybe because it is organic ............

This one is great drizzled over French Toasts. I like darker maple syrup better than the lighter ones. It imparts a pleasant flavour and taste to my herbal teas as much as adding minerals to it. This is great quality maple syrup in glass container. Wipe the rim with wet paper towel after each use.

Grade C is Good but it is too mild for me. Not allot of flavor. I wanted Grade D (Dark) instead but it was too expensive for me to buy. The first maple syrup I have tasted was Grade D (Dark) which was awesome. Ever since then I was never satisfy with the lighter maple syrups and the maple syrups with other ingredients added. I end up using allot of syrup everytime time I made pancakes because of this problem. I have a abit of maple syrup left but the cap is stuck because of the maple syrup.I wish that they made the bottles differently.
