Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps most of the water out, good quality material I bought this 2 months ago for a lower leg cast. I would recommend this cover. If you can, keep your limb at an angle so that water cannot run down and collect where the band is securing the cover. Wipe limb above the band/cover with a towel after shower and maybe grab a paper towel to blot any dampness that managed to get close to the cast. Alternatively, a sponge bath is less likely to result in dampness at the top of the cast. The product was long enough to go mid-thigh (I'm 5'10") before I cut it to the appropriate length. Ample room for foot and leg inside the cast. Latex band is a bit difficult to secure- you need to stretch it out with your fingers or overstretch the band to get the hole over the plastic "button". There are 2 tightness options and I would have liked a third one so that the band can go tighter. I have been using the cover in combination with a shower seat. I keep my leg sticking out of the shower. The cover keeps most water out but there is a tiny but of dampness where water runs down my leg and to the very top of the cast. At the beginning, I used to cover while standing in the shower and trying to keep water away from the cast leg. The cover did quite well. Before purchasing the cast cover, I tried using garbage bags. I taped a garbage bag to my leg and the bag ripped when I tried to remove the tape (I used duct tape). This would mean a new garbage bag every time I showered. I tried using a garbage bag with clear packing tape. This did not rip the bag but it was uncomfortable and I did not trust that the garbage bag was waterproof. The cover feels more durable than a garbage bag and has held its shape/condition well. Great price for what it does!
