Pistachio nuts have earned the name "the skinny nut" due to their low
calorie content. Considered to be one of the healthiest of all the tree
nuts, pistachios are an excellent source of fiber, potassium and
nutrients. Recent studies suggest that eating small amounts of
pistachios daily may lower blood cholesterol levels and in turn lower
the risk of heart disease.
Use pistachios on salads, sprinkled on roasted squash, stirred into pasta or on top of fruit. Pistachio nuts can also be used in baking and as a healthy snack on their own.
