These are amazing! I used to get a lot of itching on my period and once I started using these all the itching is gone. They're soft and very nice to the touch. Good to know:
-They shrink in length, even when hand washed in cold water. Mine are now just over 10'' long.
-The colored ones come in all different colors, and you cannot choose. Some are cute (eg. little foxes), but the others not so much (a black pad made it almost impossible to know when it needed to be replaced). Most colors are cute.
-They do ok with heavy flow as long as it is regular, but they not with a SUDDEN heavy flow. If you've been lying down or sitting down and you suddenly get up, you should go to the toilet as soon as you do, otherwise they can leak. This is my only issue with them. Otherwise they perform quite well, and if you have a heavy flow you can use several liners.

These beautiful things called Lunapads! They keep you dry, they keep you fresh, they don't irritate and they are reusable! Good for your body, good for the environment, easy on the wallet in the long run. They are comfortable, natural and not bulky even with the inserts. Absorption is good but for a heavier flow perhaps try the postpartum inserts with the long pads.

I wish I'd been brave enough to try these earlier! Disposable pads often made me itch...I'd find a type that didn't and then they'd "improve" them and I'd be back to square one. I use Lunapads in conjunction with a DivaCup and I have not been happier. Yes, it's more work but the environmental and personal health benefits are definitely worth it.
These stay in place extremely well. I was a bit worried about absorption at first. So far, I've only used one insert on top of the pad and while I've soaked through the insert, the pad has not leaked. Keep in mind, though, that I'm using it with the DivaCup so the only time I really need the pad is if I can't empty out the cup in time. Just remember, wash them with cold water if you want to avoid staining!
