NOW Foods Goldenseal Root is derived from the root of the Hydrastis canadensis plant. It has been used traditionally by Native Americans for hundreds of years and is still used by modern herbalists today. It has been referred to as "king of the mucus membranes" because of its use for reducing mucus membrane inflammation. The active ingredients of goldenseal include isoquinoline alkaloids, such as berberine, canadine, and hydrastine. This product is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help alleviate infectious and inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract such as gastritis

Directions: Adult Dosage: Take 1-2 capsules, 3 times daily. May take up to one week to produce beneficial effects.
