Brahmi, also known as Bacopa or Water Hyssop is one of the most revered herbs in Traditional Ayurveda. It is considered to be a Brahma Rasayana, and as such is part of a group of special herbs that revitalize and rejuvenate both mind and body and act as catalysts for transformation. As a cooling herb, it is particularly well suited for balancing Pitta. It combines well with Gotu Kola and Ashwagandha.

A cup of Brahmi tea (do not use hot or boiling water – lukewarm water is fine) with Yacon or Coconut Palm Sugar is wonderful before any mental activity or meditative practice or can be used as a daily tonic. In traditional Ayurveda, Brahmi is often combined with Ashwagandha in a milk decoction or combined with Ghee. You can choose to use almond milk or any other non-dairy milk as an alternative.
