Polysporin Cold Sore Healing Patch uses hydrocolloid technology to effectively treat the cold sore. The patch forms a protective barrier that contains the virus and enables fast effective healing. Instantly hides, actively heals.

When the patch starts to detach from the skin, remove it and replace it with a new one until cold sore is healed. Patches should be used 24 hours a day. On average, the patch will stay on for approximately 8 hours. You do not need to remove the patch every 8 hours, only when it begins to detach.

CAUTIONS: Do not use inside the mouth, on mucous tissue or to treat genital herpes. Consult your pharmacist or doctor if the cold sore becomes severe and/or an outbreak lasts unusually long.

How to Apply:
- Wash hands. Ensure skin is clean and dry. Do not use in combination with cream as the patch may no longer stick to the lesion to provide full treatment benefits.
- Remove applicator from wrapper and hold ends using both hands.
- Gently pull each end of applicator, following the arrows, until adhesive side is half-exposed. Take care not to touch the adhesive side of the patch.
- Gently press the half-exposed part of the patch with a finger to firmly place over the cold sore.
- Slowly pull end of applicator down and away from the skin in a smooth rolling motion until the patch slips from the applicator. Make-up or lipstick can be applied over the patch. Wash your hands after application.

Highly Recommend!
I always get cold sores, around 10 a year at least, and I've always been in a lot of pain with them. I've tried every type of lip cream available and the only thing that worked a bit was Abreeva until this product came out. Nothing has worked better for me than when I use Polysporin. It covers it up, makes the pain bearable, and decreases my healing time to about 5-7days from start to finish instead of the 10-14 days that I was previously experiencing. It does hurt a bit to take it off sometimes, but it is definitely worth it!
I highly recommend everyone to at least try out this product.

Decent for hiding but debatable if it helps speed healing
For me, I never found that these helped speed the healing of cold sores. Although I don't find that any product speeds the healing, including abreeva. Mine always last 10-14 days. However I did find that these helped cover up the sore and hide it during certain stages. If anything, it helps spread the infection to other areas of the mouth. During the blistering stage, it can sometimes balloon up with puss and have a white appearance which is gross.
During the bleeding stage it doesn't hide much depending how severe it is. Either way, an absolute travesty that this product is discontinued. All the other brands are poor quality.

Worth it!!!
I have tried virtually every available non-prescription product on the market, and nothing comes close to these wonderful patches. Read the instructions, or better yet, check it out on YouTube on how to apply them or you will end up wasting a lot of them (like I did).
They conceal them better than anything else I've tried, and last all day (if you follow the instructions). On top of concealing them, when removed, my lip is smooth instead of crusty and scabbed. They also keep the sore from splitting open and gushing blood when you open your mouth too wide, which is devastatingly embarrassing when it happens in public.
Expensive yes, but worth it! Thanks Polysporin!

Lov the cold sore patch
I love these patches,they make the cold sore area feel instantly better.I can hide it under makeup,or leave it,people ask,I tell them.(free advertising for you) I don’t get how they work and make it heal faster ,but they do that.No ugly scabs it’s protected ,no accidental scraping of it,or touching...eww.These pads even seem to take away The itching.Big bonus there.Stress really brings these gross things out...I make sure to keep these patches on hand all the time .They work great stay attached well no matter what ,eating ,drinking,sleeping...These things are a blessing ..Lov the patches...Makes getting a cold sore so much easier to handle.No messy ,smelly creams,don’t have to touch the sore at all...

I decided to try this the last time I got a cold sore and it was definitely great at concealing the sore which helped with self confidence.
The only part I didn't like is that each time you take it off, you take off the yellow gunk too which is the sore trying to heal itself by crusting. Therefore the sore never dried and it definitely took longer to heal. After using these patches, this is the first time a cold sore has ever left a scar on my lip. I know cold sores left untouched look gross but I found it heals faster and doesn't leave a scar if you just let them run their natural course - these patches are too much interference.

Pros and Cons
I used this product from the moment I felt the cold sore coming. I used the patch during the whole time I had my cold sore. It is great at concealing the sore. Although it is not invisible, I would rather have a patch of plastic than a full blown cold sore visible on my lip.
What I did notice, is by using the patch, the cold sore does not dry out. And therefore takes longer to heal. I've had my cold sore for 8 days now and it has not scabbed over. I still have a red ulcer on my lip due to the fact that the patches do not dry out the cold sore.
This product may be good at hiding the sore, but it does NOT speed up healing time.

Really really good!
I just bought this product yesterday after s cold sore appeared after 2 years of not having any. The patches are easy to use if you read the instructions carefully , they are not noticeable at all and you can put makeup to cover it . You don't see the cold sore at all, it's really amazing. It's three days now and it's almost gone. The patches make everything so much easier, eating drinking , not worrying about contamination and going out in public I don't worry if people can see the cold sore because they can't.
Some people have wrote they didn't like when you take it off there is yucky stuff on it but honestly I actually like this because it feels like it's getting rid of the guck.
I highly recommend these and will keep purchasing should another cold sore come back!

This product is very unique and could be very helpful.
I got a cold sore yesterday and decided to try this patch. It was great throughout the day, I was able to put makeup on and cover it up as best as I could. I went through about two that day and left on on over night, I woke up to a huge swollen lip, and a cold sore that wasn't drying out at all. So today I decided to remove it and try not using them and put a lotion that was from a doctor instead which has dried out the cold sore within a day. This patch is a great idea and I wish it had worked for me, I do have very sensitive skin and everyone has different reactions but the idea and ability to hide the sore as well as contain it from spreading is genius. I would recommend others to at least give it a try!

Makes Cold Sore Worse
The few times that I have tried this cold sore patch it has caused my single spot cold sore to morph into my various spots within the patch area in a matter of a couple hours.
Once the cold sore starts to get to the scabby stage, when you take the patch off it tends to rip the cold sore open again.
I have never had it 'last for 8 hours' and it does not mask the cold sore. Sure it doesn't look as red but then you have this patch on your lip that is most likely wrinkly because no lip is a flat perfect surface and when it starts to come off it looks even worse.
I love all other polysporin products and even their complete solution cream works better for cold sores then this nonsense does.

Love it!
This isn't the only cold sore patch I've tried, but it's my favorite one. The biggest thing being that the patch is nearly invisible once you put it on, and they're slightly larger than other brands so they don't peel off as easily! I love that my cold sores don't get scabby so they don't crack when you move your lips, and I find they don't hurt at all when I have the patch on. Personally I don't have any problems removing the patches, and once they're off I dab at the cold sore just to clean it up a bit before putting a new patch on- this prevents them from oozing out the sides. I only have to change the patch after brushing my teeth (that's when I find it gets loose) and I have no difficulty eating! I rate this product with an A+

Can't live without these!
I've never written a review for anything before... Ever! But I feel so strongly about this product that I had to! I've been getting cold sores for a long time now and in the past couple of years I've been getting more (stress related I think) My sister told me to try this product because she gets them too and I was very sceptical at first but I tried it out of desperation and was amazed at the result. Cold sores hurt, especially when they break open and with these, the pain instantly goes away and they really are hard to see on your lip! I can even wear lipstick over them if I really need to. Great product if you suffer from nasty cold sores and still need to face the world!

My cold sores heal faster!
I love these patches! I still use an acyclovir ointment for the first 24 hours to help keep the size of the cold sore down, but after that I use this patch and it makes the entire experience far less painful. And my cold sores heal faster - probably about 5 days instead of 7 from when I first feel the 'tingle' to a healed lip. Awesome!
Also, I've been using these on the little sores my daughter sometimes gets on her face. It keeps her from picking and is the ONLY thing we've found that her skin doesn't react to, resulting in a bigger sore on her face.
My only 'complaint' is that they don't come in a bigger size to use instead of band-aids for the little girl's sensitive skin.

Amazing relief and coverage!
I have been a lifelong cold sore sufferer and have been using these patches for a couple of years now. They are fantastic at covering the sore, provide great relief from the pain and swelling, and speed healing time. I keep a pack in my purse at all times for when I feel the tingling starting. I never write online reviews but I am so passionate about this product I felt compelled - these are fantastic and make cold sores much more bearable!

Helps with pain!
This is the only product I have used that ACTUALLY takes the pain right away. I get incredibly painful sores and as soon as the patch is on the pain is gone. The only downside is you have to re apply a lot if you're drinking a lot. I suggest straws. I'm not healed yet but the sore is smaller and seems to be healing fast. I still take Lysine daily and use lipactin (bc it has zinc) but I will definitely buy this product again!!! Abreva is such a waste of $ and only temporarily helps with pain. I had no pain the whole 8 hours this patch was on.

Sticks well. But effectiveness?
It sticks very well happily chomped on steak it stayed on. Very impressed. U don't feel the patch it's so thin and flexible. Makes it easier to wipe your mouth wash face etc and even protects the scab when u feel the urge to scratch it as it's starts to heal and peel.
As for effectiveness. It doesn't exactly shorten the duration. But it does it's job of preventing spread. Personally I would wait til the blisters show and pop and drain then apply these patches. A popped blister container with this patch only contains. It doesn't prevent it from forming new clusters within the patch.

Works Well
Compared to other products on the market, this one is one of the best. It does exactly as the package says, keeps it contained and scab free.
I found it did not shorten the period of infection, which is not the end of the world. One complaint I had is due to it not allowing scabs to form, therefore, keeping it wet and moist; nearing the end of the healing process it got slimy and moved. This would force you to have to take it off (as it was full of puss) and replace it. After replacing it you run out of the patch by a day or two.
Suggestion would be to have more patches in the container, even if you had to up the price, this way you are covered for the extra patches you need to apply in a run of a day.
Overall great product, will purchase again.

Product made cold sore worse
I get cold sores a lot when my sister told me these patches worked for her I decided to try it.
I didn't have trouble putting the patch on at all, and it did stick well. I liked that I could drink and eat and generally not worry about it spreading to my upper lip area.
However underneath the patch epically at night I found the cold sore kept getting worse, it actually spread larger where I had the patch. So much so one patch doesn't cover the cold sore anymore.
Now my whole lip is swollen in the one corner and it has become very painful.
I like this patch for during the day but I think I will be trying some abreva at night or while I'm in the privacy of my own home.
I gave this patch 4 days to see what results I would get. I will only use this patch I'm combination with creams not on it's own.

Love the patch
Unlike medicated creams, the healing patch protects my cold soar from all elements that come into contact with my lips on a daily basis. I don't feel like I need to reapply a cream every time I eat, drink, or everytime my lips touch it. It's protected, being medicated, and partially covered. You CAN see the patch, but I choose that over yellow bubble clusters or crusty puss lips any day.

Highly recommend
Although i found it did not "hide" the sore, it camoflauged it for sure!
I did not start using the product before my cold sore appeared, however once i started using it, i could notice a huge improvment! I ended up using my first pack and had to purchase a second. but i am happy with the results. Next time i will for sure use at the first sign as suggested!

- Relieves pain (instantly), tiggling, burning, redness, swelling
- Hides the disgusting clusters, makes it less HD, which gives you a little bit more confidence
- Prevents scabbing (which is awesome)
- Prevents from spreading cold sores
- The patch stays impact (up to 26h)
- Allows you to eat and drink without worrying
Cons:
- Does not speed up the healing process (but at this point it hides the "disgustingness" pretty well so it's not too bad)
- Also since the patch would stay on for a long duration, it kind of discolored the covered part of my lip, but i'm pretty sure it's temporary (blood flow and all)
Overall the polysporin healing patch is very satisfying; by far the 'best' out of all the other products.

Great way to hide that little bugger.
For years I dreaded the feeling of the itch, followed by the bump, followed by the embarrassing red menace. Finally thanks to this patch that has all changed.
No longer do we have to glob some white paste on our cold sore and wait for the stares, now with a relatively simple application process and a little cover up you can go about your day with no one being the wiser and knowing that your cold sore is being treated effectively.
I don't know if I have ever written a product review before but I wanted to thank Polysporin for making this product for those of us who have suffered for so long. Now if only they would drop the price and add a few more patches in a case it would be five stars across the board.

Finally, the product I have dreamed of.
Having been plagued by cold sores for 12 years, I imagined a bandaid that might protect the scab from being torn, which extends the duration of the sore.
I bought your patches to have on hand at the first sign of a cold sore, and had the opportunity to use them, beginning six days ago. They are a dream come true. Not only have they protected the sore from being torn, but they have contained it and completely done away with the painful throbbing and swelling I had previously experienced with cold sores. Today my lip has healed and there is no longer a need for a patch. They have cut my coldsore-suffering time by at least half, and also did a good job of covering up the ugliness so I could be at work and among people without feeling gross.
I can't thank you enough. You have taken my wish and turned it into something better.

Fast, easy to use and very concealing!
I have been a cold sore sufferer for many, many years. And many times they have been so bad and so painful and unsightly that I did not want to leave my house. My usual go-to is a daily supplement of Lysine which has significantly reduced the number of cold sores I do end up with. But for the times I do end up with one, never have I found a product that not only relieves the pain and the duration but also HIDES the angry looking sore until I tried these Polysporin Cold Strips. They are very easy to use and surprisingly very natural looking on my lip...you really can't tell there's anything there at all. And they really do stay on for several hours even with eating and drinking. I am so thrilled with this product. A++

Works well but is very noticeable
Pros: I found that this patch helped keep my cold sore from spreading and getting bigger. Also great for relieving pain that the cold sore causes. Helped speed up healing time by a couple days and helped heal the cold sore so that I didn't have that terrible "puss" phase.
Cons: Sometimes the patch is too large for the cold-sore area, and although clear, is still fairly visible. I found that sometimes I needed to cut the patch in half in order to wear it comfortably. It can be tricky to put on and if you don't it will look wrinkled.
Overall: It was effective for relieving pain and healing the cold sore faster than using other creams that I have tried. It is fairly visible when wearing it which not great but overall I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from painful cold sores like I do!

PRICY BUT GOOD
I read the other reviews and I don't understand why people have such a hard time applying this product. there is a trick which I will tell you below.
first, I've had cold sores for as long as I can remember. I've tried many creams, and anti-viral pills. I've tried other patches as well and while the other patches are cheaper in price, they're also worse in quality.
There is no quick magical solution. you need the virus to work itself out and you need to heel your skin. Meanwhile, you want to be careful to not spread the virus. this product is the best thing currently available on he market for what you can control.
here is my tip for application. works 100% of the time, no stickers wasted. Once you open the package, you'll find the little clear circle. the circle has 2 little tabs which you're supposed to pull off so that your hands don't touch the actual sticker. here is the thing- one of the tabs stick more than the other tab. so what I do is I pull the 2 tabs apart, and one side will quickly unstick. then I carefully stick it back, and I carefully unpeel the very sticky side. now that very sticky side is the side I put on my lip. I try to line up the middle of the sticker to the border of my lip, so that it blends in better and stays more invisible. once that super sticky side is on my lip, the not as sticky side now comes off very easily. works 100% of the time.

I found the application of the patch extremely frustrating to put on..and spoiled a few of them, getting them on and in the correct place! I find that they are a bit expensive for the amount of patches you receive!

Amaze balls
Not only did this product conceal my cold sore and prevent it from spreading, it cut down the time to heal in half!
No one even noticed I had a cold sore, ( this one was quite big it had 8 small blisters!). It healed very nice, and I did not have a huge disturbing crusty scab on my face!
I will definitely use this product again!
