Progressive 5-HTP

Progressive 5-HTP supports a healthy mood balance. 5-HTP can also help promote restful sleep, relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia and when taken preventatively, can help reduce the severity of migraine headaches. Progressive 5-HTP is enteric-coated and gentle on the stomach.

Suggested Dose: Take 1 caplet 3 times daily with a meal. For sleep aid, take 30-45 minutes before bedtime. To help promote healthy mood balance, use for a minimum of 1 week to see beneficial effects. To help relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia, use for a minimum of 2 weeks to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 1 year.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Vegetarian Enteric Coating (Ethyl Cellulose, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sodium Alginate, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Oleic Acid, Vegetable Stearic Acid), Cellulose, Dicalcium Phosphate, Water-Soluble Cellulose, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, Silica, Modified Cellulose Gum.

Cautions: Consult a health care practitioner if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 4 weeks (chronic insomnia), if symptoms persist or worsen, and prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking carbidopa and/or drugs/ supplements with serotonergic activity including, but not limited to, L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John's Wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over-the-counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you experience signs of weakness, oral ulcers, abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain and/or skin changes. Avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness. Do not use if you have scleroderma. Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Some people may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and drowsiness.
