I love wood pellets for my 6 cats. I use a large scooper and pick up a scoop, shake it and the sawdust falls into a bag. I then throw the pellets back into the litter box. No waste, no smell, no chemicals and very little tracking. It is so healthy compared to scoop able litter since there is no silica dust for them or me to ingest. Love it and would not use anything else.

This product looks like wood pellets for a wood stove - tubes of product about 1/8 inch x 3/4 inch. If you are using it for a cat, it is a very small bag, fills the litter box once, so is very expensive. I didn't notice a smell of pine. Once the pellets are wet they swell up and look kindof like bran cereal (not the flakes). It is hard to scoop. My cats don't seem to like the feel of it and don't use that litter box much. Once wet, it is very heavy. I've gone back to wood shavings which my cats prefer, and is much lighter.

My two cats took to the pine pellet cat litter immediately having used clay before. The smell is pine - it absorbs well. You definitely have to empty the litter after 5-6 days because it grows as it absorbs the pee and starts to overflow the pan. I feel it is well worth the price and wouldn't go back to clay. Each bag is the right size for one large litter tray. I scoop as normal, tap off the extra pellets and flush the poop lightly covered with pine sawdust
