Rated 1 out of 5 by Vancouverite from Bland I decided I should test this out before I bring it camping since I had never tried it before. It needed more water and steeping time than recommended. All I could taste was spice from the gochujang, and nothing else. It has none (?) or why tastes like a single granule of salt, which while I get it's to reduce salt consumption, is sooo unappetizing. Quite disappointed especially with other options out there with way more flavour. Hoping to support a local brand but unfortunately not for me! Still have yet to try their fried rice which I also purchased on a whim, but not holding out much hope.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MarieS from Fantastic Concept - not for me though This is a market that is ripe for something like this. The concept is so great. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to spiciness. I can take it if I can cool it down easily. This packaging worked like a charm in heating up and making a palatable dish. It all comes down to personal preference in spiciness, texture and flavours. The rice part was fine by me. I didn't mix the bag up before I poured in the water - so there were these clumps of extremely spicy bits and other areas that tasted like plain, salty rice. So, if you're going to try it, MIX UP THE CONTENTS before adding water. I also didn't enjoy the dried mushrooms that were reconstituted by the addition of the water. The texture was kinda ewww for me. I eat mushrooms raw, stir-fried or other ways - just haven't had them like this. Wish I liked it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Denise from Not worth the price Essentially you get a big serving of rice with 7 dehydrated carrots and 2 slices of dehydrated mushroom. Salt and complexity of flavor is lacking. There's also a subtle rancid undertone. It wasn't clear to me at the time of purchase that this was backpacking food. I wouldn't purchase it again.
