Where do we even start with this one? This is a brand new kind of sea salt spray. First of all, can we talk about the spray? SO OBSESSED! It has a super-fine, constant mist which ensures a more even application than your average pump applicator. Second, the feeling! No salty, crunchy, chalky texture, just satin-grit that stays touchable and soft. BTW, the difference between this one and Kristin Ess' Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray is that this one goes on wet/damp hair and the other one is for finishing so it goes on dry hair.

Great for straight hair, but it definitely does make your hair feel clunky/textured (as is it's job., being a salt spray). If you're alright with a gritty, crunchy feeling that you would get from a sea salt spray then this is a great one for building body and it seems to really help my hair hold it's waves. Took a star off because the scent is super gross imo, it smells a little like Byredo Mojave Ghost which is just the worst scent to my nose, but it also has a strange note that smells like a pumpkin (like the vegetable/gourd when you carve it on halloween, not a nice spiced latte or something).

A true sea salt spray
This really does mimic the feeling and look of hair after swimming in the ocean without the overly crunchy effect. My hair is very fine with a bit of a wave and I find if I partially blow dry my hair, then spray this into my hands and distribute on the bottom half of my hair I can coax some really lovely beauty waves that will last all day. I find if you spray directly onto hair you will not be able to control the distribution as well and will have sticky sections. I've tried a number of wave sprays, some quite high end, and this spray creates the most similar effect as a day at the beach. Also I know the scent is quite polarizing on Kristin Ess products, but I think it smells fine and with this product it seems to dissipate after an hour or so.

I was hesitant to purchase this because I find sea salt sprays to be very gritty and sticky, but unless you overdo it, this won't give you that feeling. I spray a small amount on my towel-dried hair and I let it air dry will scrunching it. This actually boosts my barely-there waves and gives me that beachy, just-went-in-the-ocean look I only get on vacation! Be careful to only use a little, as I did go overboard and it left my hair feeling a little TOO crispy.

Wish I loved it
I like the idea of it and will use on occasion, but it just makes my hair too crunchy. I have thick wavy hair already so maybe it's just not right for my hair type. You won't be able to run your fingers through your hair AT ALL after using so if you're OK with that then it would work for you. It kinda drives me nuts. I definitely prefer air dry foam by Ouai or bumble and bumble sea salt spray.

A little goes a long way with this stuff! You really do not need to use much to get great results. My hair has very little natural wave to it, but this brings it out and I get such nice beachy looking hair. I use a very light mist on towel dried hair and then just scrunch as it's drying.

Excellent product
Product is lightweight in your hair. The scent is light and fresh. I have naturally wavy, curly hair and just towel dried and then sprayed product all over scrunching my hair. It did create beautiful beachy waves. Definitely will be packing this product for my next Carribean trip!!

Better for dark hair or thick hair
I have fine hair and I found this a little too heavy. Also it made my hair darker and I am blonde. I gave it to a friend who has thicker dark hair and she loved it. She also found it a little heavy to just spray on so she put it in her hand first and worked it through.

There's a fine line between using too little and too much product. Too little and your hair dries slightly frizzy, too much, and it's sticky and crunchy. It's really tough to tell while the hair is wet. I like the cream better than this spray.
