I am extremely extremely sensitive to the suns rays, and as I was about to go to Florida on a golf trip, very nervous as to whether it would work for me. It was very white and concentrated and had a noticeable scent, so I was concerned. After rubbing in for a few moments it wasn't very noticeable at all on the skin or greasy, the smell disapated after a vey short while and it worked better than any sunblock I have ever used including those even more expensive. I didn't even have to reapply during the entire game which I was always typically have to do . It worked perfectly and I wish I could say the same for the sun protective clothing I bought. Again the best I have found.

This was the first natural sunscreen that I tried. So I can only compare it to the regular ones.
I applied it on my my 2yo son and it stayed white for a long time. But he doesn't care about it, so whatever. The scent was similar to the other Weleda products (lotion and cream) and I find it pleasant (my son also didn't complain).
I only used it on me one day, and found it veeeery hard to spread. I also had to rub a lot in order to fix the white. It's also more greasy that the regular sunscreens out there.
Since my son has a sensitive skin, I would probably buy it again, since it's natural. But for me, I'd prefer something easier to apply.

I liked this - I felt that I wasn't harming the environment using it while snorkeling. It needs a bit of rubbing (to not look like a mime), but I found it really effective. My husband didn't like the"light scent" - I found it pleasant. I found one tube lasted me for a week of vacation, so it's cost per hour of sunshine is good.

Definitely prefer this to the Green Beaver SPF 30 non-whitening. Although it goes on white, a little rubbing in fixes all that. It's not greasy like the Green Beaver is which is a huge plus for me!

The product delivered exactly what it was supposed too. it protected my daughter from burning and rubbed in very well on the skin ,leaving no residue. Also very nice not having unhealthy ingredients in it.

This sunscreen is not useable. It remains greasy and white on the skin for hours and goes on EVERYTHING you touch. Your purse, carseats, clothes of anyone that brushes against you, picnic table, whever you sit. I tried wiping it down, but then nothing is left on the skin - isn't the white supposed to be there to provide the protection? Leaves skin very greasy until soap is used. May as well buy a jar of zincofax and mix it with olive oil yourself.

I like that this is a safe sunscreen and it works very well. There is a light scent to it, that my kids didn't like and protested while I was putting it on.

Great product. Smells natural and totally acceptable.
Yes, it's a bit greasy and makes your face white. Here's my trick. After rubbing in, wait for ~1 min so that your skin absorb it. Then gently wipe off the excess oil and whiteness with facial tissue. Then you are good to go.

We learned about this product through the EWG website while trying to find the best sunscreen. It doesn't contain vitamin A (which is possibly thought to help exacerbate or nurture skin cancer when combined with the sun) and uses all natural ingredients. It is very thick and white, and takes a while to sink in, but it's worth it. The lavender scent is lovely.

I have had a brush with skin cancer and am very careful about the time I now spend in the sun. I am very active and have found Badger Sunscreen safe and effective when I'm cycling, running or camping.

Excellent staying power! We love using it while out on the water kayaking! It's been great at protecting us from sunburns! Love it!

Excellent sun block. I was really worried because my baby is only 3 months old and although you are not suppose to use sunscreen on a baby less then 6 months old, my pediatrician suggested using a pure zinc oxiode sun block rather then exposing the baby to the harsh sun. My baby had no reactions and did not get one once of sun which I was really happy about. I avoid using it but when I do either at the beach or zoo where there is direct sun and little shade I'm very happy.
Also, I ordered my product on a Monday and received it Wednesday of the same week!!!! I was thrilled and on top of that I didn't have to pay shipping as it was included. Very happy with the product and service!

This is the greatest sunscreen I've tried on my almost 3yr old son. It's quite thick, but it has staying power! It has a nice scent and protects well! I'd recommend to anyone!

No sunburns while wearing this product! I love everything about this all-natural sunscreen. Once it's worked into the skin, it protects for hours.
Manda: about a year ago
Yes, it's thick and a bit greasy, but works very well on my son's sensitive skin... I wouldn't use it on my face but it's a great product - no burns, no problems!

great product! Not too hard to rub in especially knowing its not super easy!
Keeps baby free from sunburn & smells good too!!! :)
will definitely buy again!!!

my friends always comment on how lovely this sunscreen smells :-) it is quite thick and takes time to rub in, but it give great coverage.

I love this product. The thing that i love most of all is the rating that it gets on ewg.org. It's top notched. Although it is pricey compared to other sunscreens on the market but i think the low risk factor is awesome!!! Kneaded the tube prior to applying really helps with the product rubbing in. All in all i love this sunscreen and it's lavender scent. It lets me know that it's on my children and working. Great job Badger.

This product takes some time to rub in, but once you've done so it's great. I found it does absorb, but you need to really rub it into your skin. I've never had a sunburn while using this stuff and I love the little badger on the front. :)

This sunscreen works well and I think it's great for kids, but it does leave greasy marks on anything you touch after applying it. My son is very pale so you can't see it on his skin, but when I use it I look white and pasty like a ghost! It's hard to find good natural sunscreen and this is better than others that I've tried!

I purchased Badger SPF30 Sunscreen for myself and my kids because its one of the safe ones. The only down side is that it is thick and made it a little difficult to apply.
Meg: about a year ago
My sun finds the smell stronger than the Badger Baby sunscreen, so he prefers the other, but it does work well.

now that ive been using this product for a little while.. in my opinion it is a good product only if ur laying on the beach all day.. it is sticky and does not absorb at all.. i dont mind that its a bit pasty but it ruins your clothing and i have smears of it on the inside of my car door bc its shiny and wet... excellent if you want natural sunblcok and your going on vacation.. ive switched to vichy kids spf 50. theres a bit more chemicals but nothing worth worrying about and this one does not make a mess....

Like the other reviewers here, I thought the price was pretty steep for the amount in the tube (it's expensive elsewhere, too, not just on well.ca), but the ingredients are high quality and it works, without the nasty chemicals!
I found the texture when it first came out of the tube a bit strange - it's sort of a grainy paste but once you rub it in it's smooth.
I use it primarily for when I am out running in the sun or at the beach, so frankly I didn't notice that it was particularly greasy, but for people who wear it every day, I can see why that might be bothersome.
Despite the cost differential and the inconveniences, I have sworn off chemical products, so I'm glad to have a workable alternative!

I was really disappointed that this sunscreen was so thick and pasty! So hard to rub in, and left me looking white afterwards. Natural yes, usable, no.
Alison: about a year ago
This sunscreen has a pleasant smell, and works well, but it difficult to apply, and is greasy and white looking for ages after application. While I always purchase natural sunscreen, I would be hard pressed to purchase Badger again even though I think it is a good natural product simply because it takes forever to apply, and if you get the tiniest bit into your hair, you look like a grease monkey for the rest of the day. Considering I use sunscreen primarily for my five year old before she heads to school, the hair thing is a big issue.
As an aside: I purchased this sunscreen last summer, and opened it up today for the first time this season (expiry date is 02/12). The product has seperated with the lavender essential oil all at the top of the product. After working it around inside the tube for 15 mimutes, it was not re-encorporated adequately back into the product.
Bianca: about a year ago
i use it primarily on my hands bc i drive alot.. works well on the body too. i dont mind the smell... most importantly its natural.. it does absorb into skin after a while, so its not sticky and oily. the only issue i have is the tube is 87ml.. if it was at least 150ml i would be a lot happier.

Worked well in the Dominican sun, but was a bit thick and you had to work hard to rub it in. A little expensive for the amount you get, but it kept me from burning so overall I'd give it 4 out of 5.

This product works great!! Always protects my skin on even on the hottest, sunniest days.

This sun screen is a little expensive, but good. You get what you pay for!

Great product. Absorbs nicely and doesn't leave you looking white. I would recommend putting it on before clothes though as it seems to leave stains (around the neckline).

My son has the most sensitive skin and eczema. All "dermatologist recommended" and other natural / organic sunscreens I had previously tried still bothered his skin. This is truly the first sunscreen that does not aggravate his eczema and it works wonders for blocking a sunburn as well!
JodyD: more than a year ago
Love this - goes on white so I can see where it is, then easy to rub in and it disappears.....use it for my 8 month old and myself (very fair skin) and have never had a burn!

I also found this product slightly difficult to apply - it went on thick and took awhile to spread evenly. I also realized I can only get about a dozen full applications out of one tube. Still, safety is first (it worked great!) and my family is worth it!
Lexie: more than a year ago
I'm very happy with this product. It goes on easy. Absorbs fast. Doesn't leave you looking like a white ghost.

I also LOVE this sunscreen, for my kids and myself. My skin is crazy-sensitive, and I had no issues at all with oiliness or acne. Some people have issue with the white residue; the important thing to remember is that it's zinc-based, so it's a physical block rather than a chemical one. This means it doesn't rub "in" so much as it rubs "on". Just don't use a giant glob of it and it will spread out evenly and not make you look ghostly!

Absolutely love this sunscreen. After reading how some people said it was hard to apply I was curious to see - but it went on great! It smells great and my 6 month old had no reaction to it! I bought it because it had the best rating on cosmeticsdatabase.com and was all natural and organic and safe for an infant. Would highly recommend it!

I think I'll stick with this sunscreen, as it's non-toxic and works well :)

This is the worst sunscreen that I've used. The smell is fine and so is the application, but it is VERY greasy. After using this on my face for a week, I developed acne. It is way to oily for my sensitive skin. It's fine for use on the body but I would not recommend it for facial use.
Liza: more than a year ago
I've tried many natural sunscreens and this one is the best! It has a high zinc content which makes it thick and white, but it rubs in really nicely and isn't greasy, as a lot of natural sunscreens are. The smell is very mild too, which my son appreciates.
