Our natural toothpastes are made with plants & minerals. Unlike toothpaste with fluoride, children under the age of 6 years of age can safely swallow our natural toothpastes (including toddlers). Furthermore, our toothpastes are made with real flavours without any chemically engineered synthetic flavours (or dyes), making it better for us and our environment! The toothpastes contain natural antibacterial agents such as Xylitol, lemon and tea tree extracts. Xylitol occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables, including berries, apples, and plums. According to Health Canada, "studies have indicated that xylitol in particular may actually help to prevent tooth decay".
It also contains natural mineral whiteners such as Silica and calcium carbonate, natural breath fresheners like aromatic and refreshing herbs. We also add Calcium ascorbate, which contributes to the normal development and maintenance of teeth and gums. Available in five natural flavours from Mother Nature’s garden: Frosty Mint, Star Anise, Zesty Orange, Green Apple, and Cilantro Mint.
Ingredients: Calcium carbonate, sorbitol, aqua, glycerin, sodium bicarbonate, silica, xylitol, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) extract, calcium ascorbate, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, menthol, sclerotium gum, coco glucoside, xanthan gum.

Overall it is a good toothpaste. It leaves my mouth feeling clean and refreshed. I feel comfortable knowing that it has natural ingredients. However the consistency is a bit runny and some toothpaste has dripped from my toothbrush.

The most important thing I will mention, is that I have very sensitive teeth... If I didn't use Sensodyne I'd be crying from the pain of other toothpastes. But I wanted an SLS free and vegan toothpaste so I was ready to give this a shot. I was waiting for the pain to come... But it never did. Turns out, it's some type of chemical in toothpastes that has been giving me sensitivity. All the more reason why no one should use those.
The first week I didn't like the taste but after that first week it really grew on me. And now I'm in love with the flavor. It is very strong so it leaves your breath smelling great way longer.
It is thinner and doesn't suds like regular brands, so I put a little extra on my toothbrush and I stopped using water until I'm done brushing. This helps it clean better. And I agree, it is in no way runny though. My teeth feel just as clean if not cleaner than the old stuff. But I'll only really be able to tell on my next doctors appointment.

Didn't taste as good as I'd hoped. It's a really strong mint flavour with a gritty baking soda taste. I'll still finish the tube since I need an SLS-free paste, but I'll try something else next time.

Great additive-free toothpaste. I only wish the tubes were bigger because we have to reorder every two weeks! Our little one loves the Green Apple flavor.

I love this toothpaste! I switched because I frequently get canker sores and couldn't figure out why. I switched and they are a lot less frequent now. It's a totally different style of toothpaste than what I was used to, it doesn't really foam up, but I do find if I scrub well I feel just as clean. Also I lie the taste left it my mouth, you can tell it's natural and feels very fresh.

This toothpaste, I found, IS strong, and I understand the "bitter taste" that some reviewers have noted, but the strength is in the potent mint (which I happen to like in a toothpaste!), and the bitterness is nothing worse than I've experienced with certain other commercial toothpastes. (I've noticed there is always an adjustment period when switching toothpastes, and it's often unpleasant at first!)
I agree that the consistency is notably thinner than typical toothpastes, but it is a far cry from "runny." I even used about the same amount that I use when brushing with those thicker type toothpastes. Lastly, being a natural product with none of the yucky chemicals other toothpastes contain, it doesn't foam up *as much* as what most people are used to, but this didn't bother me. After all, it's not the foam that cleans your teeth!
All in all, a great Canadian (yay!) product and definitely a better alternative to any commercial toothpaste. Will be purchasing again!

I like how natural this toothpaste is and the taste is fresh and minty. The thing that I wish they'd change about it is the size. It's pretty small and because this is the only toothpaste we use in our household, it gets used up way too fast!

I bought this toothpaste for my four year old daughter because it was natural and floride free. However, she doesnt seem to like the flavour and finds it too strong. It is also quite runny as mentioned by other reviewers. It does freshen her breath very well though.

I've always used Tom's of Maine, but thought I should change it up a little (just like you should change your shampoo every once and awhile). Love it - great minty taste and my teeth feel unbelievably clean. A great product and it's got no flouride in it! :)

I have been using Green Beaver toothpaste since 2007. I love that it's chemical-free and I love the frosty mint flavour. To other reviewers, it is runnier than commercial pastes because it doesnt have a bunch of junk holding it together! Make the switch for your health.

I like how the toothpaste is very minty, and I'm obviously pleased with the fact that it's natural, but like another reviewer has said it's soooo runny. I feel like I have to use more toothpaste than other brands. I love Kiss My Face too bad it's so expensive. =(

The freshness of the oil peppermint does go a long way. I need to use regular toothpaste to whiten teeth, though. No matter how much I'll like to have a natural product I do want my teeth white. I use it only in the morning.

I love that it has no triclosan or flouride but it is very runny and comes out very fast so I end up wasting a lot. It also has a bitter taste to it.... but I have started to get used to it after 2 weeks

This is the best toothpaste ever. Both me and my six year old son love the taste of it. In the short time I've used it, I've noticed my teeth are much cleaner and healthier then when I was using regular toothpaste.

I agree with Kelly..this was a little disappointing. A bit too runny, slight bitter taste (instead of the Frosty Mint I expected) I guess from the Peppermint Oil. My husbands teeth started looking a little less white after using it too. Won't be buying it again.

Honestly it does take a few days to get used to the change of texture and taste when first switching from regular toothpaste to natural toothpaste, but it cleans and whitens your teeth better and I love that it's all natural and safe for my kids even if swallowed accidentally. I have already purchases a second tube and will continue to use this product.

I really like this toothpaste. It took a bit of getting used to because the taste from peppermint oil make me feel a little sick the first few times I used it, but after a week or so I got used to the stronger taste. I also found that you have to be really careful when squirting it out of the tube because it is a bit more viscous than a regular toothpaste so it comes out really quickly.

I love this toothpaste! It is the only I one I will buy. The mint flavour is perfect for my husband and I (although it is too strong for our kids - they prefer the apple one). Most importantly, my teeth and mouth feel really clean after I brush with it.

I have been using fluoride-free toothpastes with the kids for quite some time. One of the kids founnd some Crest we had lying around and said it was their favorite. I love how strong the minty taste is in this toothpaste. It also actually made my teeth whiter which no other popular commercial brand has done. My teeth feel very clean after brushing. My only complaints are that the tube is smaller than I would like and that this toothpaste is more "watery" than I used to, but it gets the job done.

We switched to this natural toothpaste over a year ago and love the minty taste. Cleans your teeth without the harsh chemicals found in regular toothpaste and is fluoride free. The whole family likes Green Beaver products and they are made in Canada!

This is a great toothpaste. It has a strong flavor that awakens the senses. I am allergic to SLS, so this toothpaste is right up my alley. When my mouth has any contact with SLS, my lips end up peeling. It is a difficult condition to handle, since poisons and chemicals are in almost all health and bathroom products. If you want something that is 100 percent natural, as well as SLS free, this toothpaste is for you.

This toothpaste dissolves very fast- so fast that I found I end up brushing with a dry brush after a few seconds which means you need to use a lot more than competitors. Mint is very strong, like a mouthwash.

While I love the Green Beaver toothpastes that I tried previously (orange, star anise and apple), I'm not a fan of this flavour at all. The mint seems to be too strong and irritating for me (maybe too much peppermint oil?) and I dislike the aftertaste. I'd also love to see their toothpastes based on xylitol only (no sorbitol). Their star anise toothpaste is still my favourite toothpaste though.

the flavour reminds me of christmas candy canes! so yummy! It doesn't suds up like regular toothpaste because it's SLS free. But at least you know by purchasing this toothpaste you're avoiding that dangerous chemical. (Also fluoride-free, major plus!) The most natural and safe toothpaste I've come across. I really can't say enough about this toothpaste - we love, love, love it! My mouth used to sting and the skin on my lips would peel after using conventional toothpastes. Green Beaver Frosty Mint definitely tastes different than regular mint toothpastes, but I love the refreshing feeling it leaves me with with none of the harsh chemicals. My teeth are whiter too - my only qualm is that the tubes never seems big enough, I go through them too quickly!

Perhaps people making the switch to natural products don't realize this? I've tried many brands and flavors of natural fluoride free toothpastes and this one is in my top two.

I've only been using this product for about a week, and so far I'm satisfied - though I'm reserving judgment until my next Dentist appointment!
The mint flavour is great but very strong - I wouldn't suggest it for a child. I did find it weird the first few times I brushed not to have any foaming, but now it's my favourite part of this toothpaste! My teeth stay amazingly silky all day and night (I brush twice a day religiously!) regardless of what I've eaten.
The only downside is the price - it's an expensive toothpaste compared to the Colgate I used to buy, and I find that I have to use a bit more of the Green Beaver because it isn't as thick as traditional toothpaste. I'm hoping to find it on sale some day soon. ;)

decided to buy this after the amazing reviews...I'm not a fan. It does leave your mouth feeling fresh but I feel the toothpaste does melt into the water as someone else said and leave a tad weird after taste. I probably won't buy again.

I've been using this toothpast for about 1 1/2yrs. I go to the dentist every 3 months and they have commented on my teeth. Specifically the lack of Black Line stain that I have been getting for about 4 years. (the stain looks like you ate a spoonful of pepper and the pepper settles around your gum line). I no longer have to endure the hard scraping from the dental assistant. The taste is great, i like the texture and I love that it doesn't foam or taste very sweet like the major brand pastes. My 9 year old uses it now too.

Since I was little I always got canker sores. Recently someone told me that the Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in most toothpastes can cause them. So I tried this natural toothpaste. I was skeptical at first, but 4 months later and not 1 single canker sore yet!
The taste is fine, but I'm really not crazy about the texture of the toothpaste. Pretty much melts into water as soon as it touches my teeth. (I think the lack of SLS also means lack of any kind of foaming action). And I'm really not sure of its cavity protection - we'll find out on my next dental appointment :s
In conclusion I'm not a fan of the toothpaste itself, but if a natural toothpaste prevents canker sores I'll stick with it.

THhs is amazing! The best minty toothpaste I have ever used. I couldn't believe how minty tasting it was compared to un-natural toothpaste. I didn't realize how strong tasting it was at first. I gave some to my 2 year old to brush his teeth and he started making weird faces. I then used it and figured out why. So I will be getting something else for the kids, but for adults this product is wonderful!

I love this product! Its fresh, clean and extra minty taste keeps breath fresh for hours. It doesn't leave one's mouth with that "sugary" feeling but rather a fresh taste. Great company and wonderful Canadian product.
