Red Yeast Rice is rice that has been fermented by red yeast. It has been used for medicinal purposes in China for more than 1000 years primarily for improving circulation. It contains a family of ingredients known as monacolin which are thought to interfere or block the body’s natural mechanism to produce cholesterol.

In addition to red yeast rice, Maxion Nutrition’s Red Rice Yeast products include a unique combination of choline, lecithin, policosanol and phytosterols. All four of these ingredients are naturally occurring in plant tissue and are all widely thought to aid in lowering cholesterol.
