Eco-Pioneer products are designed to be simple, effective and environmentally sustainable. Besides being all natural and readily biodegradable, their washing powders leave a small ecological footprint. They are sourced from local suppliers and are minimally packaged in 100% recycled paper fibre boxes and printed with non-toxic, vegetable inks.
Eco-Pioneer soap flakes are manufactured by a process called saponification The term saponification is the name given to the chemical reaction that occurs when vegetable oil or animal fat is mixed with the strong alkali, sodium hydroxide, and heated. The products of the hydrolysis reaction soap and glycerol. Once the soap solidifies it is ground into flakes. Eco-Pioneer only uses natural vegetable oils to create their soap flakes.

Love these products! I follow the recipe as others below me, only instead I use baking soda in place of the washing soda. We started using it for cloth diapers (best thing we've found) and now we use it for everything! It's the only thing that we can use consistently without the front loader stinkies building up. We even have hard water and everything comes out super soft and absorbent.

I love these products! I use the recipe on the side of the box to make my laundry detergent. (1 c. soap flakes, 1/2 c. washing soda, 1/2 c. borax)
The clothes are soft and no need for dryer sheets. It says you can use cold water with this but I find that it is better to dissolve the detergent in hot water first.

These soap flakes are excellent for making laundry detergent powder (eco pioneer has a list of recipes for all kinds of natural cleaning products you can make yourself) they are gentle and great for sensitive skin

This is a great product. I make my own laundry detergent (the recipe is on the back of the box) because my son has allergies. This is the only place I've been able to find soap flakes and I love that the shipping is free!

Loved how easy it was to order this product on line. The flakes are really fine, which allows them to dissolve in cold water (just don't overcrowd your washer). At first, the box looked small but when you think about how heavy it is, it would actually take quite a few bars of soap (and a ton of grating) to make up as much as this box has. Overall, it is a great value! I also have asthma, and sometimes powders can trigger it. No issues with this product.

It seems to work well in my front load washer. I also live in Calgary so I was a bit concerned the soap would not dissolve as well in our hard water. So I only use 2 tbsp of the soap flakes with 1 tsp of baking soda (to soften the water), dissolve it in a cup of hot water and then pour it in my machine's dispenser. I will consider getting the washing soda to boost the cleaning power but will do so carefully due to my daughter's severe eczema.

I watched a video on the David Suzuki Foundation using green products to make your own laundry detergent. I found this site on a Google search. I bought the washing soda, washing borax and the soap flakes,plus the essential oil. I followed the instructions from the video and now I have a life time supply of laundry soap, this is good for my machine & septic tank. Well.ca site allows me to purchase all the ingredients without leaving home and delivered free to my front door within days. At Xmas I supplied my three girls with this kit.

This is an awesome product and goes along way! I followed the recipe on the side and added Borax and washing soda. This recipe has been successful in cleaning my husbands stained construction clothes and my machine does not have any bad odour after which I usually had when using other detergents. We have used this product for many years. We have found it to be the best detergent for all our laundering needs. We're currently using it for cloth diapers and a small amount goes a long way. We mix in a bit of Eco-Pioneer Washing Soda and borax to enhance it's overall cleaning power.

Love these pure soap flakes, made in Canada too! I use the recipe on the box.. with fantastic results ! Better deep cleaning than with seventh generation liquid, which I also use at times. I have a front load machine, so I mix up the ingredients with warm water and pour directly onto the clothes inside the machine, instead of into the small slot above, as that area is best when liquid detergent is used. This method has given me excellent results , so will buy this item next order.. As love it!

I use this product all the time for clothing that goes next to my skin, because I am allergic to all types of laundry detergent, even the supposedly dermatologist tested, etc. But pure soap flakes get the clothes just as clean, and this product dissolves quickly and does a great job. Also the price is reasonable.

I use this and Pioneer's Baking soda for my washing powder, my son has VERY sensitive skin so I can't add borax or washing soda, and these two products are working really well for cleaning our clothes and clearing up my son's rashes - awesome!! So happy (1 TSP soap - 3 tsp Baking Soda in my front loader is working well). Love this site as well! FABULOUS!!!

This is a wonderful product. I too used the recipe on the box to make my own laundry detergent and my clothes are coming out better than they ever have. However, I do wash with cold water so I like to dissolve it in a bucket of hot water first, just to be sure it melts completely. Putting some white vinegar in the rinse cycle helps greatly too. I use Arm & Hammer So Clean in my recipe, but its scent is too strong for my liking and I'd rather use something unscented.

I used these to make my own laundry detergent (according to the instructions on the box - using borax and arm & hammer so clean washing soda) and I absolutely love it! You really don't need very much in your wash so it's an economical way to have a green laundry detergent. I have very hard water so I included a little more washing soda to the mix but our clothes are really clean and fresh. Highly recommend!
