After using many of the Method line products for several months, I must say, their laundry detergents turned out to be a disappointment. We have used the "free clear", "peony" and "fresh air". At first, they all seemed to work well but, after several months, we have noticed that absolutely everything we washed with Method laundry detergents (and corresponding softeners, both liquid and sheets) started to smell really gross and musty. Everything that was washed, dried, folded and put away, had that weird stink of an old, oily kitchen rug that you just can't seem to get clean anymore.
We do have a newer and very well maintained Whirlpool Duet HE set, so this is not the case of an old and under-performing appliance. We run the extra rinse on all our loads, and even that did not help. Even items that were air dried, ended up smelling like that.
After switching to Seventh Generation Free and Clear, and re-washing absolutely everything, we managed to get rid of the musty smell.

Cleans very well in any water temperature, the scent is wonderful, non intrusive and lingers even after the dryer or air drying. I love that it doesn't use up big storage space and that I can carry it with one hand versus slugging the equivalent with both hands and lots of muscle power

This detergent was great for he first 6months that I used it, but I had to switch back to Tide. It doesn't clean deep enough, so clothes and especially towels were starting to smell unclean after washing them.

I've been using this for years and it's never let me down! I've noticed that if you leave stains a long time to "set" they might not come out properly (but that is my fault and not the detergent).

The product smelled good, but honestly it didn't clean as well as other detergents that we used before. I'm very disappointed because I was looking for a product that we "green", efficient, and smelled nice. I also like the handwash from this company. It's really too bad.

THis is a great product 0 washes the clothes well at normal temperatures, has a nice smell (or not if you use the unfperfumed one), it lasts a long time and is just generally a great safe long lasting product.

I love Method products and this one is no exception! One point about this detergent that I really appreciate is that it is not all flowery and 'girly'. It isn't what you'd call 'manly' but my husband doesn't walk around smelling like flowers now at least.

Really like this product. You use so little and it still does as good a job as all those BIG bottles we have to lug home and find some place to store. I really like the convenience of the pump bottles but I am very happy to find somewhere to buy the refills which are much more economical.

I've been using this detergent in my front-load washer for a couple of years now, and I love it. The pump dispenser is convenient and tidy, and the detergent seems to be effective for delicates as well as regular washing. One bottle lasts me for ages, too ... and being able to buy a refill package instead of another plastic bottle is well worth it!

I have a front load washing machine and was havaing problems with an odor in the machine. I started using Mehtod laundry detergent and have not had this problem since. The detergent cleans well and the scent is not overpowering. I also like the fact that it is better for the environment and my family. I love the pump bottle, very convenient.

Great to be able to purchase bulk refills. The pump bottles are very sturdy so they should be able to withstand many refills. So little is used per load, so the refill should a lttle while.

Cleans clothes well! And a small amount goes a very long way. "Fresh Air" reminds me of laundry left out to air dry in ocean breezes.

I used to use Tide for over 30 years. Find this works just as well and is cheaper. Plus when you buy the refill you are saving the environment. Win win as far as I'm concerned. Directions are overstated. I use 1/2 what it recommended and still get great results.

It is unbelievable but true, you only need 4 pumps for a huge load of laundry. Buy the bottle once and you can keep refilling it which I really like. It saves a lot of packaging and the pump is well designed. I like the fact that it doesn't take up a lot of space in my cupboard.
