Eco-Pioneer products are designed to be simple, effective and environmentally sustainable. Besides being all natural and readily biodegradable, their washing powders leave a small ecological footprint. They are sourced from local suppliers and are minimally packaged in 100% recycled paper fibre boxes and printed with non-toxic, vegetable inks.
Eco-Pioneer Washing Soda is derived from solution mining of natural, trona mineral deposits. Solution mining offers a process by which sodium products can most efficiently be extracted from ore deposits. The trona ore is dissolved in a water solution creating a brine. The brine is processed to recover the sodium carbonate (washing soda) and other sodium products. The sodium depleted brine is recycled to the trona ore deposit to dissolve additional trona and reduce waste water production.

So stoked to find this on well.ca, as it's so hard to find in most stores, even big box retailers, in my city. It's a bit pricier than the arm & hammer option when I can find it in stores, but it's worth paying a little extra to be able to order it whenever I want, and to not have to drive around to dozens of stores looking for it.

Finally, I found a Canadian made box of washing soda (sodium carbonate)! I use washing soda to clean my bathroom, and the rest of my home. I also use it to clean my front load washer ( 2 Tbsp. of washing soda, and 1 Tbsp. of Oxy-Bleach powder ) add to your detergent dispenser, and use the hot water setting. Now select the washer clean cycle (or the cotton heavy cycle). Love Well.ca, and love Eco-Pioneer, and other Canadian natural product manufacturers! Sincerely, Steff ( Proud, loving Canadian ).

I have been looking for washing soda everywhere but this is the first place I've been able to find it!! I used it to make laundry soap and it worked fabulously, I love it! I will never buy laundry soap again.
Ingredients:
2 cups soap flakes (forces dirt out), 1 cup washing soda (cuts grease and softens water), 1 cup borax (kills germs and whitens). Use 2 tablespoons per regular load. Optional: add 4-5 drops of essential oil.
I'm also very glad that Well.ca shipped it to me with minimal packaging. The cardboard box of soda came in a box with brown paper as the filler.

Like many others here, I bought this product to make my own laundry detergent. I gave my two daughters for Xmas, Eco soap flakes, Eco washing soda, Eco Borax and Lemon essential oil to make their own liquid soap detergent for washing clothes. I also purchased a pail with a lid at the local hardware store. I found the recipe for liquid soap on the David Suzuki web site, there is also a video for understanding and watching the whole process. A fantastic product. I had been using Arm & Hammer So Clean in my recipe for homemade laundry detergent, but its strong scent really put me off. As I'm quite "scent-sitive", this is a much better alternative because it's completely odourless. My clothes come out fresh, clean and smelling of nothing. I like that.
