Description
Penaten Cream is a medicated diaper cream that is best used at the first signs of redness, as it starts working right away. Apply a layer of Pentan medicated cream and fasten a clean diaper. By applying a medicated barrier cream at every diaper change, you help diaper rash while protecting the skin from further irritation.

Penaten cream has been used by me and my family for generations and it always helped for rashes and served as a perfect barrier cream. When I recently bought Penaten Original it was anything but the Original. It doesn't stick to the skin anymore to provide a barrier. The texture and consistency is terrible, runny and grainy and it does not do the job it used to do consistently for so many decades. Please bring the old cream back. I will not ever buy this new version again.=

Terrible reaction, sadly
Bought this hoping it would help with my eczema, tested it on my arm and it seemed fine, then tried with more sensitive areas and it resulted in what I'd call a chemical burn.
Not sure if I'm allergic to something in it that I was not previously aware of, but I was quite disappointed!!

I've been using this since I was a baby...
"This product saved my skin". " This product changed how I feel about skin care, forever". "This product helped clear all my rashes and protect my skin barrier".
There's too many options without trusted performance, except for Penaten. Or, at least that's how it used to be.
I was swept away by modern skin care routines, and even damaged my skin in the process. Its dry, itchy, and breaking out in places it didn't before.
And that's when I said "to the wind with it all" and turned back to something I knew would help. Penaten helped me before.
It applied smoothly and consistently. It didn't have an irritating scent like most things do these days. It didn't pill my skin, and it melted beautifully with my body heat.
The next morning, my skin would be glowing and I'd go back to it again and again.
Not anymore.
Upon opening, I was instantly dismayed.
The new formula is thin and chunky, and spreads like a glue stick.
The scent is too much for people who relied on it for its neutrality,
And the most disappointing part, Penaten - a trusted brand of quality, sold out to shrinkflation.
Things are expensive now, and I can begrudgingly accept that. I was willing to pay more for a tiny tin of cream, because I knew it would help.
Instead I got ripped off, and paid more for not only less, but but less of an inferior product.
I won't be buying this again.

Great but pricey product
I love this product! It has a thick consistency, provides great protection to my daughters skin, but is SO expensive. I use it at every diaper change for optimum protection, and go through tins quickly (every 2 weeks)..

Penaten cream is well known for its use as a diaper rash cream. It has a nice thick consistency which prevents moisture from touching the skin. This is a must have for your baby.

Poor Quality - bring back the old formula!
I just recently had my first baby so I purchased some Penaten as that’s what my mom used on me as a baby 34 years ago - tried and true product! I ended up purchasing two separate times and returning them both because the texture, colour and smell were off. I thought the product was bad as the tinfoil seal was loose on both tins. Turns out the formula has changed. The original formulation was great because it was thick. Now it’s very viscous and not as effective. I will not be purchasing again unless Johnson and Johnson reverts to the old formula.

New formulation is very disappointimg
Not happy with new formulation. Hard to use, does not protect. Very disappointed. Not good value for money at all. The older more solid product in your tin was brilliant. I will not be buying Peneten again after 50 years as customer

Fast Relief
I always keep this cream on hand especially in the winter time, because I tend to get extremely chapped hands and this seems to be the only cream that can heal and sooth my hands effectively .

Please change back to the original formula!
My family only used this brand for years! When I had my children my mother told me straight away to purchase this cream in the tin as it was the best. And it WAS. However, with the recent formula change we have to switch brands. My son now cries when I use it saying it’s “ouchie” and the texture is incredibly messy. I hope you are able to change back to the original formula. Until then, I’ll have to search for an alternative.

Great cream
Although I absolutely love this cream, I'm not a fan of the container. Thankfully it is also offered in a squeeze tube so I don't have to scrape half a pound of cream stuck under my nails all the time.
