one piece of lore, Chinese Herbalist, martial artist and Qigong master
Li Ching-Yuen is said to have lived past 250 years of age due to using
various herbs including Gotu Kola. According to the energetic principles
of Ayurveda, Gotu Kola is bitter, astringent and sweet in the Rasa
taste energy, cooling in action according to Virya and balancing for all
three constitutions such as Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas. It is
considered a wonderful daily herb to support general well-being,
vitality and health.

⅛-¼ of a teaspoon of Full Spectrum Gotu Kola powder can be added to 8-16oz. water, coconut water, any beverage, smoothie or recipe. Make warm tea-like infusions by adding the powder to warm water (not boiling) and a natural sweetener of your choice such as Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup or Organic Traditions Coconut Palm Sugar.
A cup of Gotu Kola tea (do not use hot or boiling water – lukewarm water is fine) with Yacon or Coconut Palm Sugar is wonderful before any mental activity or meditative practice or can be used as a daily tonic. In traditional Ayurveda, Gotu Kola is often combined with Brahmi in a milk decoction or combined with Ghee. You can choose to use almond milk or any other non-dairy milk as an alternative.
Please note that Gotu Kola has a very bitter taste and so use very little and combine with a sweetener of your choice.
