possesses a hundred husbands” and as such aptly describes its importance
for female vitality. Shatavari combines well with Amla,
Tribulus/Gokshura and Ashwagandha. According to the energetic principles
of Ayurveda, Shatavari is sweet and bitter in the Rasa taste energy,
cooling in action according to Virya and balancing for Vata and Pitta
constitutional doshas, with a tendency to aggravate Kapha. It is
considered a wonderful daily herb to support general well-being,
vitality and health.
As one of nature’s most revered botanticals, Shatavari has been used for centuries as an important herbal remedy in Ayurvedic Medicine. ⅛-¼ of a teaspoon of Full Spectrum Shatavari powder can be added to 8-16oz. of water, coconut water, any beverage, smoothie or recipe. Make warm tea-like infusions by adding the powder to warm water (not boiling) and a natural sweetener of your choice such as Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup or Organic Traditions Coconut Palm Sugar.
A cup of Shatavari tea (do not use hot or boiling water – lukewarm water is fine) with Yacon or Coconut Palm Sugar is wonderful anytime as a daily tonic. In traditional Ayurveda, Shatavari is often combined with Ashwagandha in a milk decoction or combined with Ghee and is particularly beneficial for women. You can choose to use almond milk or any other non-dairy milk as an alternative.
Please note that Shatavari has an earthy and floral taste and so use very little and combine with a sweetener of your choice.
