Preferable to the hard tablets.
This was one of the better gut health things I could find for our old man. He has been on the Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora previously, which helped, but was SO expensive! This product (MSP) is also vet recommended, but is more affordable. The powder is so fine, it's very much like baking powder. There is no scent/taste, and it's a very easy delivery method to just put it on his food with a little water, just so he gets all of it. The bag is a decent size, and due to his weight, should last quite a while! The scoop inside is quite small, and he only has to have a scoop daily (we do every second day). The measurements for the size of your pup are on the back of the bag. Very easy to use and understand. He did not have any adjustment issues switching to this from the Purina. I have also started giving it to my other pup, and it only took 2-4 days for his belly to adjust. When I say adjust, I mean he had a little softer poops than usual, but that's all. No upset or diarrhea. The two pups getting this are 14 & 10 yrs. I'm hoping that, in time, it will also help the old boy's skin as well as his gut. When I did the research, I did find much better reviews, and more acceptable info than the NaturVet products.
