Frustrating packaging
No complaints about the product itself, it is thick but absorbs well enough if given a few minutes. The pump on my bottle may have been faulty, but after a couple of weeks it stopped working. The cream is so thick that without the pump, there seems to be no way to get it out of the bottle.

This stuff is thiiiiiiick. Like, Play-Dough thick. Suggest pinky nail portions and really spread it in thoroughly before considering add more. Otherwise will flake.

Unpleased with the changes
Why was the recipe recently changed ? I have been using this cream for years, but my more recent refill seems to be different in both smell and consistancy, and not in a good way. It now smells « perfumy » which I really don't appreciate, and it is a lot more watery. Isn't this supposed to be fragrance free ? Why change a good product ?

Weird finish
I normally love CeraVe products, but this one is a hard pass for me. I normally apply dots of sunscreen all over my face and then massage the product in my skin. I did the same thing with this sunscreen and it stuck to where I had put it and was very hard to blend out and left a white cast on my face. The finish of this product is matte, but sticky at the same time which is really weird. It did not sting my eyes so that’s good. I will probably use this as a primer instead.

Not a fan of the new formulation
I’ve been using this product for years but recently it appears the formulation has changed. It used to be a thick cream with a matte finish, however now it’s much runnier, and leaves a greasy film on my skin. Unfortunately this new version is a no for me.

Rend ma peau sèche...
Je ne connaissais pas du tout la gamme des produits Cerave et c'est la dermatologue qui me l'a recommandé. J'ai la peau sèche et j'ai de la couperose. Je n'ai pas trouvé de crème de jour pour peau sèche et anti-âge et c'est écrit de normal à sèche. Je met le sérum en crème avant et qui ne s'étend pas bien et ensuite cette crème de jour et elle ne s'étent pas bien et me rend la peau très très sèche qui tire et à la limite pique un peu. alors je suis vraiment déçue d'avoir acheté ces produits. Le seul produit que j'aime est la crème nettoyante pour le visage.

Great day cream/facial sunscreen!
Love this great product! It treats, moisturizes and protects with a physical SPF in one application. As a guy, I do not want to spend a lot of time getting ready in the morning. This 1 product does it all and it blends perfectly over my skin without whitecast unlike other physical sunscreens. It has a satin to mat finish so I don't look greasy or sweaty. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews; people should learn how to use the right products for their skin type. If you have dry skin use an additional serum underneath your moisturizer/sunscreen. If you get it in your hair, rub it off. Don't blame the product. You will not find a better or more complete cream with these quality ingredients at this price point. A must have!

Great Product
Great product...love that it has SPF 30...easily absorbed and can be used alone or with foundation. Hate the dispenser...the first time I bought it thought I got a defective one but it happened again...nothing comes out after awhile...appears empty but no where near empty...have been literally digging product out with a Qtip for the past 2 weeks...annoying and probably won’t purchase again because of this. Too bad when it’s such a good product.

Skin Renewing Day Cream
I wanted to love this product, however, there are quite a few issues with it.
Cons:
1) Its consistency is lacking.
2) It does not absorb into the skin, and when it dries down, it peels off your face.
3) I tried to layer it with my other serums as well and that is just not possible, as it slides off your face.
4) It does not work with my serum foundation at ALL.
5) Whitecast
Pros:
1) Affordable for ingredients
2) Maybe good for a beginner just getting into skin care
3) Widley available.
I honestly would skip this one. Save your time and money.

The Only Sunscreen I'll Use
I have tried dozens of facial spf...they all made my skin super shiney, tub of Vaseline on my face greasy, break outs, rough texture...UNTIL this one. I layer it over moisturizer and it leaves my face perfectly matte, but not dry and doesn't make my skin worse with extended use. Finally!!! I can't say enough good things about this. I buy several bottles at once because I would freak out if they stopped making it. Try it!

Good sunscreen, bad packaging
I actually really like this sunscreen. I always apply a moisturizer of some sort before applying SPF. In This case are use Argan oil. I find it makes it easier to apply the SPF. This SPF is great because it does not leave a white cast on my darker skin. However the packaging is terrible. The pump is really bad it feels cheap and like it will fall apart at any moment. This could be in a different kind of bottle.

Skin Renewing Line—Day Moisturizer with SPF
I’m 60 with faint lines around my eyes. I want something really moisturizing. This goes on nicely but a few minutes after my skin feels really dry and tight. I don’t like that feeling and then often add on another moisturizer. I like both Cerave body lotion and cream but for me, I’m finding their face items lacking. This includes the serum, day cream, and night cream in the skin renewing line. I also have the hydrating cream to foam cleanser which I like. I tried these products after watching some dermatologists on youtube.

Very difficult application
Very thick application that pills on the skin and leaves skin looking very dry. I’ve had people comment on what seems to be dry patches. Rubbing it in seems to make it worse. Very difficult for the skin to absorb.

I wanted this to work, I had high hopes. The consistency is waaaay too thick. I have to mix it with my other sunblock just to be able to apply it to my face properly. Won't be buying again.

Used to be amazing!
I'm so sad. I have been using this product for the past few years and absolutely LOVED it. But it has changed recently... the product is so thick now. It does not hydrate like it used to and I don't care for the new pump... I actually threw this product out as I was so disappointed and tried the NEW light hydrating gel- now this product is worth it! Unfortunately it doesn't have sunscreen or retinol in it like the other product did, but at least it actually hydrates well.

Stops working after a few days
I didn’t think to read reviews before buying. Wish I had. I have had this for 10 days. Like others, it no longer pumps. I can depress the pump repeatedly for over 2 minutes (I timed it) and get maybe 1 drop out. I’ve tried storing it upside down, shaking it hard before pumping, shaking it while pumping … it just doesn’t work. Since I used some the store won’t take it back. Total waste of money. I like Cerave products but this one, I high recommend you do NOT buy!

Not For Me
I discovered Cerave products a year ago and have been really happy with everything until I tried this product. It is so thick I could hardly get it on my face. It made me look really pale after. After having the cream on for about 30 minutes I noticed it was balling up even though I didn’t have it on too heavy. I ended up washing my face again as I didn’t want to leave for work with it crumbling off my face. I’m very upset wasting my money, it wasn’t cheap.

Best moisturizer with spf EVER!!
I've been hooked on this for about a year after a search of all brands, all price range moisturizer with SPF that actually makes my skin look better. I am naturally "glowy" and don't appreciate shine, however matte products dry my skin out. It was hard to find a balance; I will freak out if CeraVe stops making this miracle skin salvation.

Don’t buy!
I have bought this twice because I thought the first one was defective. I have NEVER been able to get it out. I pump and pump (don’t you think 5 MINUTES (!) is long enough to get the cream to come out! I bought one in the US and one in Canada. Same issue. Waste of my money and time if the darn pump doesn’t work!! So frustrating. I have seen in another comment that someone said keep trying and it will eventually come out. Not for me it hasn’t.

Great product, not for eveyone
I love Cerve products and i am currently using most of them in my daily skin care routine. But this product didnt sit withbme well. I broke out the first time i used it and it peels off as soon as it touches my skin. I have a combination skin and don't have a problem with their regular moisturizer. They are great on my skin and has improved my skin but not this one. I have currently stopped applying this product.

Not happy
I bought this because I had other CeraVe skin moisturizers that I was happy with but wanted one that included sunscreen. I'm very unhappy with this product however because it feels dry and pasty when I put it on plus it makes my skin feel dry and have a whitish cast. If I apply a tinted foundation on top of this product, it starts peeling off and forming white clumps.

I have oily skin, this product works well for me, and it's a great price for a product that contains Retinol, Ceramides, and hyaluronic acid. 3 awesome ingredients for your skin. Love the SPF 50. I mix this with Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Tinted Face Mineral Lotion in the morning, and my face feels nice and matte. My daily routine.

Very unhappy with product
The year product itself is good. I like the cream however, the packaging is very poor. And the amount that you can get out by the pump is very poor. I ended up having to turn it upside down and then using a Q-tip to get it out. Very dissatisfied with the packaging and I feel that you get very little cream for the cost!

love the product, hate the bottle
i absolutely hate the bottle. You have to "pump" it forever to get to the cream. Well i'm sorry but in the morning, i don't have the time to stand there and pump forever for my cream. I would throw it away but it was expensive so i will not be buying it anymore. You could recommend it to somebody you don't like...

Great product but packaging is lacking
I have been loving this cream - my skin has never looked better BUT....the packaging has been so frustrating. I understand that is is an air pump but my bottle eventually reached a point where it stopped working and the rim of the bottle even cracked. I now have to use a Q-tip to get the cream out to apply it.

Like the cream but I can’t get it out of the pump!
I do like this cream but I probably won’t buy it again because I can’t get it out of tube with the pump. I store it right side up, then upside down. Makes no difference. I have now taken off the top and am using a toothpick to get the remaining cream out, which is about 1/4 of it. Disappointing.

Good product.
I like this product for my skin, leaves my skin looking matte not shiny. The pump is terrible tho. It would be better in a squeeze bottle or a jar like the night cream. I've taken the pump off and smack in against my hand like a bottle ketchup to get the moisturizer out - which is tedious.

Wonderful, unique formula
This product has been a staple for at least two years, and may it continue for many more.
It’s the only sunscreen-moisturizer (with a physical filter component, thankfully) that works with my skin. I wear it over the moisturizing lotion. It’s a brilliant formulation.

Love the product, hate the pump
I've been using this product for more than a year now. It is great. But the pump, at first you have to put a couple times then after abour the half no matter how many times I pump it doesnt come out. I scoop it out with a small tool. I'm at the end of my 3rd bottle.

Pump issues
I really like this cream, BUT the packaging is absolutely terrible. Like many others have noted it seems like you have run out of product EVEN after trying the pump for many. many tries only to discover there is a lot of product left in the container.
