Very strange smell and thick texture that doesn't absorb
I'm really sad that this didn't work out for me. My go to is the Even Better SPF 20 cream and I thought this would be great addition as it was a day cream with a higher SPF content. Upon opening, the cream was paste like and had a very strong smell that I can't describe. You do get used to the smell after a while and I used it for about a week. I noticed that this did not absorb into my skin as well as my other Clinique products and it feels like a thin film on my face. I ended out breaking out on my cheeks! The good thing is that a little does go a long way!

Like the Older Version Better
I love the older version of Superdefense. It was my favourite go-to cream and I recommended it to everyone. I went to Shoppers to pick up a new bottle and much to my dismay I found out that it was no longer available. I don't want nor need an anti-ageing cream. I just want a moisturizer that feels great on my skin and has SPF. There is no other option in the Clinique line-up that fits that bill. So I had to switch to another brand and keep on searching until I found a new cream I love. It's just too bad because I love Clinique products and love to keep on using them.

Why? Oh why?
Suncreens aren't my friend because I've reacted to so many. Once I tried Superdefense, I stuck with it because not only did I not react but it was a very effective sunscreen - a thin application lasted all day plus, it was an excellent moisturizer. I've been using Superdefense year round for years (even before you reduced the SPF from 25 to 20). A few years ago, I went to buy it and the store didn't have it and neither did you. I panicked, thinking it was discontinued but no, it was only a temporary stock issue. After that scare, I purchased 3 jars at a time to ensure I would not run out in case that issue repeated itself. In the summer, I used it sparingly on my arms and legs without reapplying during the day and never burned. Furthermore, whatever was in the product was already anti-aging because the skin on my face looks considerably younger than my age. What more could I ask for! This new version made my face burn from my cheekbones down and my jaw line was extremely itchy. My neck was slightly itchy too. Those are the adverse reactions to beauty products that caused me to start using Clinique decades ago. Why did you change such an excellent product? You know the saying "if it ain't broke......." How about bringing the former Superdefense back and give this new product another name?

Love it!
I was on the fence about this since reading the underwhelming reviews, but looked through the ingredients and decided to try it. So far I love it! It's a bit thicker and feels a bit like sunscreen upon application and just needs a minute to sink in. Leaves no film. Just make sure to order the version that fits your skin type and you should be set for success!

This is a super soft and right away to feel like on skin cream. I have super sensitive & extremely dry skin with sun allergies and all sorts of allergies of skin with the changing weather. this cream calms down the rashes & feels so soft to apply and no grease at all. its an awesome product. received it as a promotional gift. will buy next time.

Burn baby burn!
I have very sensitive skin, cheeks are normal in summertime and dry in winter. I have been using Clinique for decades and love the brand. If you have sensitive/reactive skin, avoid this product! Within a week, my chin broke out (I never have break outs so this is unusual) amd my cheeks burn...red, flaky, burning sensation no matter what I put on. For sensitive skin, the moisture surge line is a way better option.

Best I've found
I absolutely hate the feel of sunscreen on my face, but this product really just feels like a thick moisturizer. The smell is faint, and fades quickly. I have also noticed a difference in my overall complexion too! So far loving this product!
